This. Screen freezing up for seconds at a time, I even had a 30 sec freeze once. 0 Problems before patch.

Major lag here as well, whenever a new unit comes on the map, really annoying in ZvZ (Ling Bling Wars), lost 2 games to lag in micro situations.
Little workaround: Before you start your laddersession, play a game on a unit test map and build every single unit and building. This reduces the chance of lag in the game, but it's still possible to get some.

I am no expert but I think the problem is shader generation. Shaders are generated anew with every new version of the client. Try to follow these steps:
1. Delete the folder c:\Program Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft II. (Win 7/Vista users) 2. Start SCII and set everything on max (will ensure the most complex stuff gets rendered) 3. Find some sort of "UnitTestMap" in arcade and run it. 4. Create every unit and building of every race at least once. If you can, use every ability of every unit for every race at least once. This should (I hope) generate shaders files for those units/buildings/abilities and save them to HDD. (You should get minor client freeze every time you generate a unit for the first time, but not after that) 5. You can now revert the settings to low. 6. Play some open public games to see if this fixed the problem.
It kinda fixed it for me. I no longer have laggs whenever something new appears in a match. Let me know pls if this works for you guys.
Addendum: I firmly believe that the concept of this is utterly wrong. It requires the user to play games until every possible game element was rendered at least once, only then does the client become stable. The prettier the gfx, the more complex, the more problems this is going to cause in the future and for lower end users I cant imagine how this feels. Cant you programmers figure out a way pre-make the shaders files and have them streamed to the user on update? " After I did this, I no longer have huge FPS drops/freezes. Still minor lag here and there, but that is only miliseconds and I can micro once more! Let me know if this works for some of you. Yes this is the exact thing that is happening, I tested it earlier as well. The problem is that if you restart your game then you're screwed and have to redo everything again. This is very annoying, I hope blizzard fixes it soon.

Thank you blizzard for screwing my sc2. Now 4v4 big battles is so freaking laggy. Even solo max battles drops my fps from 60 to 20.
|
how on earth is even possible that a patch (which was in beta testing too) screws a game playability. With the same exact config I used before 1.5 patch I have sudden fps drops and e general laggy feel even in 1v1. Game isn't funny to play the responsiveness is retarded. Thank you Blizzard !

My gpu fan is blowing a lot harder after the patch i never heard it before.
1.5 is a lot more demanding on my system.

I haven't seen any performance issues but have started to see lag spikes.
<EDIT> Major lag spikes now, I'm even getting dced from games etc. and losing connection to battle.net. It seems to get worse as more units are on the field.

I've tried everythign thats been suggested and my fps is dropping below 60 still on my system which isnt a bad system, and im playing on mid-low graphics....this is a joke tbh. I usually capped my fps before the patch but uncapped it was 200-300 all the time on my low settings and now im seeing it go to 45. If im having problems with my system i can't imagine what lower systems are getting it must be unplayable. A friend of mine also has the same system as me except he has a 580gtx and is getting between 40-70 fps.

Also having the same fps issues...Ultra everything is recommended for my pc..I play on all low everything and fps drops from literally 200+ to 20-30 during small engagements. NEVER had this problem before the patch.

Have Blizzard said anything about when they're going to fix this yet? I'd love to play some, but not if the lags are still there.

My laptop is a beast, can run every game I play on the highest possible settings. Pre-patch SC2 I was running it on the highest possible settings with a rather large amount of fps, and no issues were had even in the craziest custom games. Now, I'm running it on a sort of hybrid graphics setting with most things set to the lowest value, and although most of the time I have around 200 fps, sometimes the ball gets dropped HARD, and I really can't do anything and by the time I can, I've already lost.

got 2500k and gtx 560 and now after patch I get alot of small spikes, the game stops for a second and then continues, its freaking annoying :/
|
The only frame drops i get are when banelings land an attack, it is realllly awkward.
|
I used to be able to run the game easily on highest settings while streaming, now it's not really possible. I have no problems on low settings, though. I have an i7-2600 and gtx570.
|
Im running it at 80 fps on extreme according to the fps counter but it doesn't feel right somehow, i dunno, doesn't feel very smooth.
Anybody else experience anything like this?
|
Running with 150-80 fps on extreme b4 the patch, now 120-50 with 1 sec freezes when a baneling hits or before a big battle.

Specs:
CPU: i5 2500k @ 4.3 GHz
GPU: NVidia GF 560 Ti
RAM: 8 GB
FPS before: Unknown, but smooth at maxed settings.
FPS now: The same as before. Not noticed any differences in playability in 1v1. I never really ran the FPS counter, so I don't have any means of comparison, but the game doesn't feel less smooth to me.

Same Issue... Noticed it first at Go4sc2 cup in a 200 supply fight with a zerg. Wasnt able to vortex his army because of this fucking FPS problem Prepatch i had like 300FPS at beginning and 100 in lategame. (vsync off) With Vsync i had constant 60fps. Marine Arena on Ultra NP and now i drop at beginning from 60 to maybe 30 later on in massive fights i have like 2-3 fps-.-
|
went from 80-60 fps to 40 - 1 when a battle occurs.
|
Well I've been getting complete screen freeze. The sound goes on, i can alt tab just fine, but the picture stays frozen. I can even hear my units responding if I move the mouse around and select units, but the picture remains frozen.
