It's not like scrolling is bad unless it's very far away. Set your scroll speed at ~75%-100% instead. Oh really? I assumed it would be bad in the long run but I was thinking of doing it for a couple of weeks just it get me in the habit of using the minimap more. I also just tanked my mmr in order to attempt a Funday Monday so I was thinking that having a handicap that improved my mechanics would be good.
By the way, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my message. I really appreciate it.

Question, why does 90% of the forum feel qualified to talk about balance just because they heard some GSL Terran say it's tough? 90% of this forum isn't even close to the level where the balance would affect them because they can't do things like inject constantly, or constant unit production and so on.
|
Answer: Because it's gotten more difficult for them. At the current time, most vocal Terrans are in a sort of negative feedback loop. They have a bad time on ladder; tournament; watching streams. They share the thoughts and others agree with them. Some come up with new strategies and some complain.

Hey guys, is there a site which offers Sc2 statistics about the last 10k matches as well as some player ranking and head to head result stats?

TLPD; click Record and Games on a player to bring up their records versus opponents/races. Same deal for maps.
Can't think of a place for the last 10k games though

Im still a forever Bronze player who watches far more than he plays. With this in mind can someone explain why most commentators and casters these days are talking about how Terrans aren't opening with reactored Hellions against Zerg? Yet in the same games they say this (it's a very common phrase currently in use) the Terran opens reactored Hellions against Zerg, I mean I think an example of this was the NASL Ret vs Dimaga just recently, though I also heard it on a commentary of Sheth vs Thorzain on ladder as well as other (husky, day9 etc)

Who decides what gets put up on the front page of TeamLiquid? I think it's weird that the news feed about Prime's elimination from the GSTL is still up, when TL could be covering Homestory. It gives me the impression that the loser's bracket of a Korean competition (or rather, just the GSL - how come TL never front page mentioned MKP's all kill of Startale in the KSL?) gets precedence over a fantastic Eurocentric tourney like Homestory

You don't need to be good to have an opinion.
Most of the flames come from players that completely overlook that. =^.-=

I think the reason they say terrans aren't opening with reactored hellions is because there is a zerg build that gets from 4 to 6 queens (usually 6) which deals with hellion harass pretty well, so hellions become kind of useless. They can't stop creep spread effectively because they cannot kite queens (new range) anymore.

IMO most SC2 commentators just aren't that good at commentating, whether GOM, NASL, Day9, whatever. Although I really don't follow Day9 much (he's too entertainy and not enough informy for me), I'll quote his

Who’d be a caster? Low pay, long hours, and the reward is generally a couple of forum pages of people wishing you an untimely death. . . .There are only a handful of people capable of keeping the analysis and entertainment both at a high level and provide both ends of the spectrum at the same time; this is why Day[9] has his Pope-like status. . . . The world of commentating, much like the rest of western SCII, is currently in a limbo between amateur enthusiasm and professionalism. The players are not quite there yet, the competitions aren’t, and similarly the casters are still in a learning process.

On the topic of reactor hellions - there's OLD reactor hellions and NEW reactor hellions. Commentators generally just assume viewers know the difference, just like they should automatically know the hit count difference between 1v0 TvZ upgrades, or 0v1. (Again - I think commentators come up short).
What's the difference? Long story short, queens got a range buff, so Terrans can't just waltz in and own Zerg with a few Hellions any more. Now it takes a bit of doing.
There are threads on the forum going back and forth about "queen range buff" / "tvz" / "designated balance thread", just look at them a bit if you want more details. Or better yet, don't look . . . it isn't pretty.

That is subjective opinion.
It is a fact, though, that pros continue to use hellions in the TvZ matchup.

Thanks for the responses and that article snippet really makes a lot of sense, it ties in with what I think Artosis might have been saying, about Korean commentators actually having script writers and researchers in comparison to a lot of foreign commentators who seem a lot more bedroom productions.
Also cheers for explaining about the queen buff, I'd known about that, just couldn't understand why casters kept saying reactor hellion was being phased out, then watching for yet another tvz, reactor hellion trying to deny the creep spread or get around it and break drones (ofc usually failing but still).

Yep. Just like you don't need a law degree to vote.

I'm offering free coaching to lower league players (I'm mid-masters random) Check out my blog if you're interested. Constructive criticism/feedback is welcome. http://sc2bootcamp.wordpress.com/

It's funny that you say that. Because I'm pretty sure that losing 4 mules is worst then 3 infestors resource wise.

I'm a silver terran and have been for a long time and was wondering if i could get some advice. It seems that at the moment even though i can execute my builds well enough to get up to my late game army fairly quickly i still just get rolled by z/p, i attempt multi-pronged attacks etc and transition to ghost/viking accordingly most of the time. The main issue i'm having is most z and p know they can essentially roll terran if they protect from drop harrass at their expands and shut down ours. I've been a progamer stream viewer since i started playing and often watch players like kas/forgg/dragon/bomber and notice that although they will be 100x faster and more efficient with their builds, they don't seem to have the problem of just getting rolled by the late game armies of z and p. I played a tvp yesterday where i played my part to the degree where i should have just walked over to the p army and destroyed it, i scouted the collossus (and so produced appropriate vikings), my upgrades were 3:3 to his 2:1, and i even had 2 ghosts that landed some nice emps on the zealots, my army was maxed at 16 mins and i was annihilated without the use of storms or any kind of cutesy force field micro on the p part. I'm losing the will to live as i just don't know what else i can do to try and win... what makes it worse is im just a cruddy silver. is it normal to feel this way this low down in the ladder? I would really appreciate any tips or pointers on how to get up in the ladders and out of this max army wipe zone thanks
