So far, we don't know if this is a result of false promises, or genuine change of direction of Eclypsia/the players.
You are part of Eclypsia now. Why did you choose to join the team ?
I talked to several teams after IPL. I chose Eclypsia because I really like the direction the team is heading in and felt very comfortable talking to the managers. Also they are giving me very good opportunities to help me pursue Starcraft 2 full-time, and even the chance to practice in Korea in the not too distant future.
I bet the players wanted to improve personally (korea) but the team wanted to win small to medium prize purses (Europe/US). Desrow probably suffered the most from the falling out, because he personally stationed himself in korea prior to being on the team, but I doubt his vlog will reveal much.
My own feeling is that you can't recruit a bunch of randoms and viola - a team. You'll notice that whether you're talking about korean powerhouse teams or not, they usually consist of friends who play starcraft together, and by doing so, manage to elevate their games. Just look at ROOT example before the merger. And look, they still keep in touch after they get recruited by different teams.

Yeah you really can't be held responsible for driving a thread more off-topic ^^
anyways, Eclypsia seems to be a really shady organisation, to that also attributes that they accuse anyone of unprofessionalism whenever something goes wrong (though with that DotA action that might have been really the case). I'm sorry for the players who are without team now... But it think they have a good chance of finding a new team.
SloG has immense experience and speaks good english, Scarlett is a controversary but really popular figure (and it's really not her fault that they let her compete in female cups, grow up!). Artist is a solid player with good online results DesRow... yeah, DesRow... He's a very active community figure and did the risky move to Korea, we'll see how it all turns out.

These french teams are always so fishy. Expanding at crazy rates, it's way to obvious they are fake. Yet players still sign.
It hurts to see all these players teamless when they shouldn't be. Hopefully they can still find somewhere to go.
French scene has always been like that. There are a LOT of wannabes in the french esport scene. People come and go really fast and it's definitely one of the best scene to follow if you like drama ^^
I don't have a goddamn clue why everyone is hating on Eclypsia because people ar eleaving the team - as they stated everyone got paid, they just had a differance in direction regarding korea. You're all such stupid drama whores, it's like going out with a 12 year old girl reading these threads...there is no issue here...

If you want a local scene to grow, you need money. What is the money for? Support the players so that they can train and be better at the game, attend events, and overall, compete with the best. If you want to raise pro players you need money. Otherwise it only stops at amateur level and the scene goes stagnant. The only "legit" team in France (at least on sc2) is Millenium, long established team with sponsors and such. So yeah, you need money if you want to have a competitive team, even in France.

They told their players they'd send them to Korea and/or support them staying there when they signed. They then decided that they didn't want to bother with Korea, and pulled the rug out under three players who were already there and were no longer receiving support for staying there, and refused to send another (Scarlett) there despite promising when she signed with them that they would.
That is shitty and wrong and they deserve to get called out for it.

And the players thus left, there is no harm done, Scarlett for example got her salery and a new computer, everything else she was promised and they moved on. There is no need for this, none of the players are angry so why the hell are you? Jesus.

IPL TAC3 qualifiers (she beat Kawaiirice and Avenge), Eclypsia Colosseum (2-0 against Phoenix), top 200 KOTH where she went 5-0 against qxc and some randoms before forfeiting because she was sleepy
You can argue that it isn't impressive but think of it this way: in what little we've seen, she hasn't dropped a set.
Are there any vods of that? From what I heard QXC had improved substantially in the last few months.
i have to admire the players for being so professional. it shows a lot of character on their part. i think we can all read between the lines though. it is very sloppy for a team to change their minds so quickly about their international focus after signing players.

To be fair though, despite the lack of professionality, they did release them from their contracts without any hassle. They had already invested in the players (salaries, contracts, PC for Scarlett and other expenses).
so Eclypsia just changed their plans? Yeah we want to invest into Korea and hire 4 plaers just for that. Oh, it doesn't work out the way we'd like it, we'll just concentrate on Europe now. OK we'll have to let go of these players. Back to the beginning
Does seem like they just had an idea about Korea but no specific plans. And as soon as they hit some obstacle they just turned around...
Well desrow is never happy. That is how I see it. Just like that mexican dude. And Scarlett maybe went for an offer that was too good to be true. Or things just suddenly changed.
