Team LighT will be hosting an in-house tournament tomorrow, Sunday May 6th at 8:00pm PST (11:00pm EST). Five players will be playing in a round robin format (BO3 for each match)... the two best finishers will be receiving invite spots in the GIGABYTE SoCal eSports LAN which will be held the weekend after MLG Anaheim!

We think people will really enjoy these games and will be sharing them with the community after the matches are finished. We might stream/cast the games on our Twitch.tv channel if we can find a caster.

So without further adieu, here are the players you'll get to see:

Myeong Hwan Golden Jo
[image loading]

Sung bin binski Lee
[image loading]

Patrick Caliber Coury
[image loading]

Nam Heavens Tran
[image loading]

Adrian KawaiiRice Kwong
[image loading]

We'll be updating this post with results as the games are played! Please stay tuned for the action. If there is a stream we will include the link as well!

Results
KawaiiRice 0-0 (0-0)
Heavens 0-0 (0-0)
Golden 0-0 (0-0)
binski 0-0 (0-0)
Caliber 0-0 (0-0)

Hope you all enjoy this! Check our website out for good content, http://www.lightesports.com , and like us on Facebook and Twitter !

So basically, it's a tournament amongst the players of LighT and one will go to a SoCal tournament? Doesn't feel like there's really much on the line :x The venue is so close to Anaheim that I wouldn't be surprised if the whole team went anyways.

Considering the SoCal LAN is the $11,000 GIGABYTE eSports LAN, it's quite a bit on the line for each of these players.

it's an in house tournament, the top 2 get to play in the gigabyte LAN, there isn't supposed to be much more on the line than that.

The venue is close as hell to Anaheim (it was intentionally done to be right after Anaheim to draw in people), it's not 11,000 on the line or the tournament: It's a chance of a chance to play for 11,000.

And as I said before, wouldn't be surprised if the whole team just shacked up in a hotel for another week for the tournament and went regardless of the results.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents. Nothing entirely wrong, just not the first thing I'd watch.
Fun idea though.

an in house tournament doesn't seem very thread worthy. i'm sure plenty of other teams do these for tournaments. but maybe we'll see a new trend i guess...

It's an invite only tournament.. you can't just 'go' to it, that's why this matters. Teams are given 2 spots each.

Might want to check up on the tournament before you start to bash the idea of this inhouse event. It's pretty obvious to me who will win but it would be fun to watch, shame you couldn't see past the "they'll all be in it anyway" part of the thread.

I couldn't really see past the "either way, a LighT member gets in", just feels like something that's internal, is being used for easy publicity and to showcase their players.

A bit transparent, but like I said; it's not necessarily shameful or wrong.

lack of people cheering for Nam is weird. KR and Heavens have the best chance vs Golden, unless Golden's ZvZ has gotten even better since i last saw. It's gonna be a toss up between those 3.
cant wait!

also get Won Tae to cast the games imo

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them you're a mile away and you have their shoes. Playing Protoss is like driving automatic, playing Terran is like driving stick.
