Sick news, but i really hope that doesnt mean that GomTV is dead

somehow I doubt OGN and Kespa will seed foreigners into their tournaments like GOMTV does.

Not sure if it has been said or not, but the winner of the Proleague vs the winner of the GSTL. That would be soooooooooooooo good!

(not this season, but the next). You could put it in Korea, America, Europe, wherever and people will come to see.
GOM/Kespa/Blizzard could make a lot of money in this if they play it right. Could you picture the hype if a team like Incredible Miracle with Nestea, MVP, etc. went up against SKT1 with Bisu, Fantasy, etc? People would throw money at their computer screens to see what would happen when the SC2 "veterans" took on the new BW-turned-SC2 players. Tbh I'd rather see more competition between BW pros and SC2 players then just once a season. Why only do it once in a while when you could have competition between them all the time? True, but the first time the BW-turned-SC2 players (if they switch) play the SC2 "veterans" could be a big match. Even a show match could gainer a lot, lot, loooooot of interest. It will be so funny and one sided that I will drop the starcraft scene at the first moment my bw players lose to sc2 players .
You're not suggesting BW players would win are you? They would get raped if we held a showmatch now.

Sounds great.

Umm why would this stop LOL? One would guess most people in korea know aboute starcraft 2 and they dont like it. Having one more tournoment isnt going to stop LOL from over shadowing sc2 cuz people like LOL like it cuz its diffrent, free, team play, more casual...

Perhaps a fair bit too late, but good news nonetheless

What will they do for the English commentators?
Pretty much every commentator that wants to go to Korea is already working for gomtv I believe, and they can't ignore the foreign scene, it's just too big.

Having The Proleauge and GSL at the same time would be nice. More tournaments and more exposure. Also I hope they put on English Casters like the GSL and seed foreign players.

It's just the skill gap between A-teamers and foreigners got worse the longer the game was out. Having OSL + GSL running concurrently might even make it more viable for foreigners who want to play in Korea.

Will they attempt to lock it down like how BW teams contracted, or will it remain an open type deal. These really only pertains to Korean teams. But as for foreign teams, it would be insteresting to see to what degree they particpate. BW teams can buy all the SC2 teams 10 times over, if they want to. I'm not sure they will bother though. They'll probably play in Proleague only and ignore GSL. Not worth the time or money for a foreign team...
I thought from a business perspective, current BW teams cannot act without KeSPA approval or at least have KeSPA at the table. My point was (regardless of who ends up buying who), will the Korean scene become much more....in a bubble?...by have KeSPA act as a kind of business shield for team interest (who plays what where and when) or will it be a more open KeSPA...or will KeSPA be modified into a kind of Global association with Liquid/EG/Dignitas/Mouz/etc. with places at the table?
Similar to the Nada/Euro incident, couldn't KeSPA refocus team attention on Korean leagues with less leeway then GSL (for example moving match-ups or play dates pending foreign tournament involvement)?
I'm just really curious to see how they restructure according the much more present SC2 global scene versus the far more Korean centric BW scene. Open hand or closed fist sort of thing.

I hope there are more details in the following days/weeks to lessen possible speculation and drama without basis. Whether SC2 PL will start this year, co-exist with BW PL or will take over Season 2 of the PL season entirely, I hope they announce it as soon as possible so fans can prepare for either outcome, not have another season break where no one knows what's going on.

They probably won't.
If the foreigners can get into the OGN SC2 Starleague or into a pro team on their own merit, they will. There wasn't a lot of foreigners on Brood War pro teams because KESPA didn't let them, but because the vast majority weren't good enough. I remember when Nony went to Estro and pretty much all the videos I saw just had the Koreans gushing about how much potential he had.
