Show nested quote +I am wondering some things, the vultures in the brood war campagins put down there mines really slowly, wondering if it is really neccesery the make them worse ? as they are bad any ways i was happy to see in WoL that the mines where put in the ground fast.
The SCVs do not auto repair, didnt they do it i brood war?
I have notcied some new buldings the are made buy you guys, like warpgate, you need to protect agianst the zerg in "the Stand" and so one, will they be changed to the ones in HotS the you see on Kaldir? - The vulture put the mines slowly because the mines were among the best Terran units for the multiplayer. In SC2, they were used for the single player only and balance wasn't important. If vultures put mines faster in our remake, that's something we should change. The SCVs don't start with autorepair, but you can right-clic to activate it. If you don't see the repair button at all, check that you don't have the Simple Command Card active in the gameplay options. The SCVs did not autorepair at all in Brood War. The Warp Gate from The Stand wasn't made by us, it is the models of one of the artefact vaults in WoL, I forgot which. It uses an other model in The Iron Fist, but we will standardize that in the HotS version.
Yeas Sir!
Well in my play trough, Rebel Yell, The Overmind and The Stand was bug free had no problem at all. The Queen of Blades chapter i did have problem on the last misson Omega where i destroyd the last base wich belong to the UED nothing happend, had destroyd all buildings and so on.

Hey, y'all. Great work on these campaigns! I have one short suggestion; siege tank switcheroo. You see, you're using the main SC2 tank mesh, but you should be using the merc tank mesh; the merc tanks (siege breakers) are supposed to be hardcore ex-confederates - and they're tanks are completely different from the Crucio mesh. I always thought that was because the mercs were using Arclites. In short, the Mass Recall campaigns should use the mercenary mesh for the siege tanks.

I would play this, but I can't be bothered to figure out the installation...
Why don't you just make a setup.exe that extracts everything properly? Makes life easier ^^
|
Because I don't know how to program that :p Anyone who does is welcome to try.

I feel like that the UED should use the spartan company golaith in the campagin.
There is one thing that really bothers me, the creep, in sc1 the colonys spread creep, in sc2 it is the creep tumors, i feel like that creep tumors are the way to go in the remake also, because in some missons i always wonder how the zerg managed to place a spore colony on the cliffs lol.
A other thing that i have been wondering is, new gettsburg, is it a plattform or is it on tarsonis? When you she kerrigan in sc2 in raynor dream or whatever it is you can see skyskraypers (spelling?) and does not look like that she is on a plattform.

Do I need HotS to run the Zerg missions? I try to load them and I get a message that says "unable to load map"
|
It seems I can only play the "Rebel Yell" missions. That is disappointing. Everything else I try gives me the message "unable to open map."
|
Oh, what a colossal arse biscuit was I! I only downloaded the "Rebel Yell" files! No wonder!

@LoveLore87
in the original campaign that mission is on a space platform but that is only because blizzard didn't have a map tileset that would support a city and as such they just put it on a space platform lorewise it happened on the ground

Another thing you should add, and the issue has been brought up - sort of; creep spreading options. Someone else suggested switching to Creep Tumors and Crawlers, but I think the ability to drop creep out of Overlords is a better idea. Think about how you're always seeing Spore Colonies and such atop narrow ridges. How would you plant a Creep Colony on a piece of land when a Hatchery wouldn't fit on it? An Overlord dropping creep would give us the ability to set up defensive Colonies on narrow ridges, as seen in "The Escape From Auir" - which would have been especially helpful, for example, in "The Invasion of Auir" after cleaning out the Photon Cannons on the ridges surrounding the main base which would have at least given advance warning that a Carrier was inbound and let the player know to scramble some Scourges. That would be such a boon - though it would kind of shift the balance - it's something to at least consider.

I've downloaded the first episode today and I must say I'm really loving it. You are really staying true to the original Starcraft maps. Good job!
While playing Terran 5: Revolution, I noticed that Kerrigan's face in the hero portrait on the right (above the command card) is distorted. I've taken a screenshot. Notice how her face is really wide? http://i33.tinypic.com/20zdvn5.jpg

German version of The Stand and Queen of Blades (plus the mod) are available, courtesy of FirefoxGhost. The rest will be ready as soon as Jones updates his campaign pages.

Hello--first time poster. First off, thanks for what looks like a really impressive labor of love--I'm very excited to play!
The trouble is, I seem to keep receiving the "Unable to open map" error. I'm playing on a Mac, and am new to OSX, so I'm sure this is a case of operator error. Still, the only guides I seem to find online are all for Windows (as you would expect--I'm not too happy with my Mac, but that's the situation I'm in).
Under Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Starcraft II/ I created two directories: "Maps" and "Mods" Mods contains SC1BWmod.SC2Mod Maps contains the "1.Rebel Yell" directory and SCBW Campaign Launcher.SC2Map and SCMRsetup.SC2Map files
After opening the campaign launcher in the Editor I select File, Test Document Everything loads normally through all the menus, etc., but on the Rebel Yell menu clicking Play drops me into the main game menu screen with "Unable to open map"
I can only assume I've misplaced a file--any help getting the last bits set up would be greatly appreciated.

Check that you are in the one that contains the Starcraft II and Starcraft II Editor applications.

This inspired me to play through the original @_@ Im going to beat the original before I try the the sc1 campaign on sc2. Completely forgot that you do not get medics / broodwar units in the original, made keeping kerrigan alive a little more difficult.

I just found this thread and love the idea of playing the SC1 campain again. But I can't find the German version of the files. Neither here nor on you website. Is it just me and am I to stupid to find these or aren't they on your website? I would love to try them out but since I would be playing them with people who don't understand much English, I'd love to play the German version.. Hope you can help

It plays great so far--really looking forward to replaying the original campaigns!
Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll introduce this to a couple of friends too--they've been negative on the idea of playing the old games due to only being familiar with SC2 graphics and controls.
And thanks again for all your hard work on this mod--it's really appreciated.

Hello Sewi, I have translated the campaigns and I can gladly say that the German versions are available. They aren't linked on the campaign pages yet.
To find them look on the right side into the download section (Recent files) of each campaign (except The Fall, this is on the Overmind download section).
And remember to download the maps and the mod files and put them into the right directory.
I hope I could help you.
