new talent sucks, how many high level foreign players came from nothing? nearly all of them have been competitive for a long time in sc2 and most were competitive in sc1 or war3.
look at the rosters of any big teams, theyre full of famous names or they arent winning. eg does more for lower level players than any other good team. we have a practice house and have sent all of our players to multiple offline events. and believe it or not our lineup does not solely consist of me huk puma and demuslim.

It's the same in every sporting environment, you have the big names amongst big teams, but you also have the "team players". It's a given that you need these team players to flesh things out and provide different challenges and unique traits. There is so much untapped potential out there.

eg is a primarily american organization, nobody knows Happyzerg in the US
Exactly my point, he's not from "here"
EG like to steal accomplished players. If this player is a foreigner mostly likely come from Mouz. What better way take shots at their rival by steal their players away.
"Steal?" Did they run into the Mouz HQ and kidnap their player? If a football club buys a good player from another club, are they stealing him? I don't even...
If there's one thing recent history has told us, is that EG doesn't bet on potential nor up and coming players. They get sure things. They spent more money than any other team on the scene to get the players they want. This being said, either this is an accomplished player that is playing at the highest level (like JYP or Killer, though JYP in Code S means tell sell more EG gear), or it's a purely commercial/publicity move like getting a famous BW player.
Either way, it's more of the same. Money buys a lot of fans these days.

If NesTea and MVP were offered enough and their contracts with IM ended, would you be butthurt about it?
Probably, because you are one of those asinine people who use the word "poach" and "steal" probably.
I think the popularity of SC2 is going to churn out some "new talent" that will be able to hang with the BW and WC3 alums. I'll admit that we haven't seen hardly anyone like that yet, certainly in the next year or two.
I'm pretty sure that Flash didn't have background in any other RTS before he started stomping face.

Lol you sure told him! Its awesome how EG has a Team-house for their players in NA.I hope you guys do well in the GSL.
How is it fucking poaching if the player wants to switch teams? The player wants to go to another team. Why are you blaming that other team for being better suited to give the player what he needs? It's like so many of you are upset that EG is willing to finance esports to this extreme. Heaven forbid these players want to be able to live comfortably while focusing solely on SC2. More money going to players is a great thing for esports as a whole. Also, have you not paid attention to how the results of EG's lower end players like Axslav and StrifeCro have been steadily improving? They've been going to numerous qualifiers, and doing better each time. I have a feeling that many of you will simply pick apart EG no matter what they do.

What do you mean "these days"? You are seriously suggesting this is some kind of new behaviour in the world of sports?

Losira is from pro BW.
It is extremely hard for foreign new talent to rise to the pro level because there is no system for it. In Korea the story is entirely different. Lets talk about Flash and BW. When he was completely unknown he entered Courage tournament and won which granted him semi-programing license. There, he was scouted by WemadeFOX as a B team. Courage tournament is exactly what you do when you are new and unknown. There are no restrictions and happens very frequently. A lot of times, scouts from various teams are watching you play as well. I've also heard cases where a player was scouted even though he did not win the tournament (eventually he had to win one to gain the semi-progaming license but he got a lot of help from the team, i assume).
SC2 in Korea may not have this system yet. However, Korean sc2 teams still benefit from this by simply hiring B teamers who are proven potentials.
