I don't know man sc2 is alot more international than bw. so it wouldn't surprise me if sc2 actually supports more jobs.

If you count all the employes of the western esport associations that support several games such as MLG / IEM etc, then maybe, otherwise I really doubt it.

Your talking about clothing, board games, action figures, minatures, card games, etc etc. Your talking about a lot of $$$$ thats for sure. but how big is it compared to a mainstream competitive sport? tennis, football, basketball etc. I just want some perspective on the size of this industry

The entirety of esports might compare to the value of one team. And value is subjective. EBITDA would be pretty damn low I'm sure. I think he's talking about Net Assets (Assets - Liabilities) which is a much better indicator than an annual EBITDA (I wonder how many of them are running at a loss, even without including interest expenses)

Actually, I think what the poster is asking is so ambiguous that it's irrelevant. All the separate elements of eSports together? Blizzard's accounting value of the "Starcraft" name? Does MLG's Sat van count towards SC2's worth? What if only a portion is being used for SC2? Are we counting Twitch.tv? Their net assets are probably pretty relevant, but then again they're not 100% starcraft related. Twitch's gross revenue, adjusted just for starcraft? Do you count again the player's income/assets due to this revenue? Stupid question IMO.

Has there been ANY single SC2 stream that has broken 100k viewers? I don't think so. Sure MLG has gone well over 100k unique viewers, but that's across multiple SC2 streams AND multiple games. Is . . say . . . 50k ish for a big tournament or pushing 100k for the finals of a big league impressive for an esport? Well Korean BW scene still completely dwarfs everything, but I'd say that SC2's doing great, possibly pushing the boundaries of western esports.
