I really hope this works, but I really hope Kespa don't get involved in SC2. They ruined Broodwar for me :/

I hope SC2 isn't being "forced" upon these guys. If SC2 were to fail in Korea, it would be because teams forced switches and nobody played for the passion anymore.

It begins. We're screwed.

Maybe the new GSL tournament system is in preparation of the influx of players from Brood War.

The new system seems to make it so getting in to Code S is easier yet dropping out far easier too, which gives new pros in to the scene a more equal footing.

Or maybe due to the fact that Koreans aren’t that interested in SC2.

Almost 50 % don’t want to see SC2 at all whereas only 16 % want it to be implemented right away.

just switch over man. sc1 is pretty damn old already, nobody wants old stuff (except antique collector).

I am waiting for this moment where big sc1 team switch over to see if they can dominate sc2 too

This is like saying Football or Hockey is old -.-;

Either way, this is wild... would love to see some Korean netizen responses o.o;

Football and hockey have better presentations now since TV has improved. Old TV is old. So watching old hockey is old. Hockey has evolved and is not the same thing it was 30 years

BroodWar has evolved and games are not the same thing it was 10 years ago in Boxer era.

Bad example.

guys let BW die, it is the way of the world something must go away to make room for something new. SC2 has the potential to become even larger than BW is Korea. I know it is great but we must let it go. The impact of so many new teams to SC2 pro sense will create so only good things. More tournaments, more sponsors and more nail biting moments we fans can enjoy and smile days after.

Why cant both live together? Why to kill BW and korean esports is good? BW is better game, with better metagame and more high level games....

The rules in broodwar have stayed the same for a long time though. To my knowledge they havn't been doing big patches there in years. The same can't be said for NHL/NFL. As someone else said I was also referring to TV improvements though.

As the rules didn't change, it gave a chance to the players to do. They improved. They improved to a level that leaves you awestruck if you see them play and that's why we want to see it in the future.

That is what I really don't like about Blizzards 3-part-game plan, they will have the players constantly adapt to changes by patches/expansions and leave them very little time to figure out the nuances of a balanced game and push them to a limit

Death sentence? Why?
At least the competition will make the progamers train even harder to be able to stand out in the tournaments. This will be great!

Polls don't mean jack, people are stubborn haters and afraid of change, they will flame sc2 everywhere they can, but eventually the majority will still watch it.

Judging by the comments it's because they want SC2 in a separate league instead of mixing SC1 and SC2 which would cause confusion over practice schedules.
