Reaching master league is all about mechanics, what's so strange that top pro's from BW made it into master league fast?

As Zerg, reaching masters Korean this early is unbelievable. For Terran and Protoss, it was probably a bit easier.

TvT: BW players should dominate this.
TvZ making marine tank medivac will beat players through sheer macro
TvP: mmm through sheer macro

PvT: making stalker colossi
PvZ: making stalkers
PvP: just out micro them.

I disagree,
In ZvZ outmicro with 500 sc2 apm
in ZvT can use same BO as in BW (muta ling)
In ZvP I'm guessing mutas - hydra,Corruptor or just sheer outmacro.
This is where we begin. Show your true self, Battosai.

So SC2 PL will have SC2 teams + BW teams, or just the latter?

You can easily get to Masters with just 6pooling/other all-in...

Almost 50 % don’t want to see SC2 at all whereas only 16 % want it to be implemented right away.

Polls don't mean jack, people are stubborn haters and afraid of change, they will flame sc2 everywhere they can, but eventually the majority will still watch it.

Why would so many people flame a game they like to watch..?
On October 28 2011 20:01 Clefairy wrote:Judging by the comments it's because they want SC2 in a separate league instead of mixing SC1 and SC2 which would cause confusion over practice schedules.

I don’t see how there would be any confusion over practice schedules as I find it pretty unlikely that anyone would play both games at the same time? Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. It is however true that many of the “no voters” probably like to watch SC2 but want it to be separated from BW leagues.

And that was done where? A poll depends alot on what site and what community is voting. Using it as some kind of evidence isn't really fair tbh.

I for one am happy that more good players are practicing SC2. I have no interest in BW so the more people who switch over the better.

That poll was in Fomos I believe

Give it half a year and very few of the current SC2 progamers will survive. Considering the impact the best BW player to switch (MVP) has had the better BW players should dominate given time.

This is VERY exciting, I just can't wait to see the best of BW play SC2. I am very curious as to who we may see changing races and the level of control and multitasking they introduce to sc2. I still see top players in SC2 getting behind on OC and Nexus energy, leaving medevacs and prisms to die. Stacking up minerals and gas when they are not maxed, and using 1a instead of flanks. Suiciding spell casters, and not using everything at their disposal to get an advantage. Things like having piles of overlords at their rally point instead of all over the map to give vision or have full creep spread around there bases. Overseers constantly delaying production, burrow being a mainstay of ZvX, changlings always being out. Terrans making a reaper every few minutes all game long to have better scouting (and save scans) protoss warp in multitask. All of these things are probably going to be payed much more attention to.

I think when the top BW players get a few months under their belts a new level of top play will emerge in SC2. It's something Artosis has brought up several times and been criticized for but I believe he is spot on.

What a waste of potential if Jaedong switched to SC2. He couldn't display his muta micro then.

Perhaps totally unrelated, but the upgraded PC in this Fomos photo is from Quantum, who has an active SC2 team and is recruiting.

Are the best BW players like Flash and JaeDong actually going to play SC2? Or will it just be players who want to play SC2 because their BW results aren't up to par?

But defending timings is much harder. It takes 50 2 rax's just to not fall behind against it. Hellions? Banshees? Random stim timing? Once it gets to mid game BW pros would win extremely easily.

Meh, the game will not become any more exciting to watch. Jaedong won't be able to micro mutas if the game doesn't allow him to.

This thread is making me so depressed. Reading posts where people are celebrating the death of broodwar is like people celebrating that their older brother is going to die and their parents will only pay attention to them now. ;_; x 1000

This. Compared to BW, SC2 has hardly any micro and map control. ;/ And blizzard won't fix it. They want a simple game they can balance around flawed gameplay design. Micro would require LAN and LAN is something they don't want...

The latter, probably. They'll just have support from their BW teams, unlike all the other ex-BW pros that switched. Flash and Jaedong make so much money from BW that it'd be silly of them to switch to SC2.
