Can someone explain to me why teams would want to chage?
Dont get me wrong, I'm here 99% for SC2 and I'd be lying if I said I wasnt excited by this. But from most of what I hear, all viewer numbers are still in SCBW, all sponsors are there, vast majority of fans still follow SCBW over SC2. Mostly everything seems to point towards SCBW just being a lot more popular. The one thing SC2 has going for it is the international scene which really only is available for the absolute top and profitable for very few players, as well as obviously the potential of growth (better jump on the train now before it goes too far too catch).
But still, so if I was the head coach of a team or some other powerful individual in the Korean SCBW world, why would I want to switch? Or is this whole talk about SCBW being more popular bullshit and SC2 is doing well compared to BW?

There is huge potential in micro yet undiscovered, its just with better macro and strategy you can still win games. When the scene will be so polished that micro tricks will mean that much, they will employ it. Like dropship micro, i yet to see anything cool in that regard (other than bots).

I don't want the whole BW scene to die. It's a different game, it has features in its core engine that will never be replicated in SC2, and will be missed forever. (eg: rough cell pathing makes battles look so much differently - imho, way more epic - as well as the 12-limit per control group)
At the same time, of course, I will be excited as hell to see the best BW players competing with the current SC2 scene, especially in the beginning when the factor of experience will favor the current SC2 players. (as otherwise I don't think there could be really a contest) This might be the very rare chance for Idra to beat Jaedong, and for Huk to beat Flash etc; horrible as that sounds.
Basically, I don't mind if they play SC2, as long as they don't destroy the BW leagues for it. Perfectly okay to try out a new game for a while, and so on. But eventually, I think they'll miss BW.

Even with BW players switching I still think many of the top top SC2 players like SlayerS and the majority of IM will still compete with the best.
EDIT: The reason why is most likely because SlayerS has an incredible practice schedule and I guess that IM with MVP and Nestea would have the same.

I am waiting for this moment where big sc1 team switch over to see if they can dominate sc2 too

i hope some of the untouchable broodwar gods will play sc2 and teach all the scrubs how to play the game. I feel that the current pro scene is not really all that good - of course there are some very good players but you see ridicilous blunders even in GSL and other high quality events.
Some of the former b-teamers and rather unsucessful broodwar players are now dominating the sc2 scene - so if the top bw players switch the sc2 proscene will get wiped out and everyone that considers himself a pro today will be a random tomorrow.

WOW, this is huge news and extremely exciting!
I also contest the notion that the top BW players will automatically dominate - I think it'll be up to them to show this dominance rather than people speculating on it.

scares me cause at the moment protoss is doing worst in all tours and when they switch we have jaedong and flash to destroy the last hopes of protoss
i cant see bisu etc prevent them, also it scares me that forgg etc everyone will tell them what they think (think he says he started protoss switched terran and now wishes he would be zerg) so i imagine most players switch to terran and zerg and at the end protoss will have a super hard time and all say "well no pro switched to protoss" and no one asked why that is )
hope i am wrong and flash switchs to toss xD

Teams won't change. BW profit >>>>>> SC2 profit and their SCBW team will be the main team while that is still true. PL will maybe have sc2 games or paralel league. The team formations/lineups we see in BW today will remain the same.

well dude thats bs micro do not require lan in ANY kind, today we are in 2011 and battlenet have absolute zero delay, its really better then lan in sc1 ever was so i dont see why this should be the case and it seems as being only nolanwhine and not task to this topic
also sc2 have way more micro in compare to macro if you compare it to sc1. in sc1 you had to do way more macro so when the pros switch with their 400 apm they have alot of spare time and you will see whole new sc2 micro appear !
this sc2 whines really anoys me

Oh wow, these BW players has huge potential in SC2. It's be fun to see the top players play starcraft 2.

I'm fairly sure that 80% of the korean fans, if not more, don't play bw (anymore) but they watch it because a) they know and enjoy the game b) they follow theirs favourite players. Look at the audience, most of them are girls who simply enjoy cheering for flash/bisu/jaedong. If these guys switch over, chances are that many bw fans, who are also players fans, will follow.

I hope they doesn't change anytime soon

this also means more GIRLS for sc2

but you got to admit though, great micro and macro are much more visible in BW than in sc2. just have to youtube boxer's immortal marines to see this in action. there are also many WHERE THE FUCK DID THAT ARMY COME FROM moments in BW, but none that i have seen in sc2.

I hope this gives more pressure on Blizzard to balance the game better, so far it hasnt been really that good, I'm talking about last months especially.
It breaks my heart when Bisu said he would rather play terran in sc2 competitvly and protoss for fun... :/

Bisu, Jangbi, Stork, (and Best ? I haven't followed the pro scene since 1 year but he was still doing fairly good) represent a scary P lineup, I'm not sure T and Z can provide 3-4 players of that calibre (once again things might have changed in 1 year, sorry if i'm wrong).

Korea isn't that big, and BW doesn't exist anywhere else really. Maybe not as big of a point, but a lot of players like traveling. SC2 gives young korean progamers the chance to travel around the world to a bunch of Amazing places. BW really doesn't. Teams are dropping out of BW because of sponsorship. Maybe the sponsors are looking for something new. Something they can use to advertise around the world.
Companies like LG, Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia have way more to gain sponsoring SC2, these are brand names people recognize everywhere. I think it might be difficult for some fans to transition, but it looks like the players are doing fine, the teams are up for it, and the sponsorships will be rolling in.
BW is like a TV show that's run for a really long time. It might have a lot of die hard fans, but it's popularity is slowly being usurped by a newer TV show that isn't recorded on a wet, cracked, iPhone first gen lense.
