Even then, I can't really see a situation where they would ever be valuable for stealing an enemy unit. MAYBE having them disrupting reinforcement routes if your opponent makes the mistake of rallying instead of sending units in a ball.

They might be an interesting macro tool if they're cheap/fast to build. Zerg have inject larva, protoss have replicant energy. Something like that.

It's just a guess, but I'm thinking that pylons might not be counted in this stipulation? Only buildings, like core, gate, stargate, etc..? If not, this makes pylon blocking a zerg natural extremely likely.

Artosis was able to use it on a pylon, but alpha is alpha.

Blizzard doesn't have another 7 years to work on HotS though.

No, but I don't see them going through the unit creating/balancing process over and over again when both Blizzard and the community expect the expansion to come out in mid 2012. For a game that was on the table for so long, that repeatable process was something to be expected.
