Good that Terran gets new units, they lack versatility so much....

Sarcasm aside, I remember from some interview that Blizz is trying to make mech more viable, so they just add a mech unit. Funny that more and more pros prefer mech over bio right now.

Hellion transform into firebat-esque unit. Serve as a meat shield and AoE damage.

mech spellcaster. makes sense. the timing though? a million terrans in the gsl and then blizzard rubs it in with a flashy new unit.

It really does look like a hellion transformer. I guess that the idea would be you drive them in and morph them in the mineral line where they in "walker"-mode would be harder to kill? The upgrade could be a replacement for blue flames as a higher armor would allow them to butcher masses of lings/marines with ease in a similar fashion.

I think this seems like a pretty weak idea, and hope that we're misreading this outline/they're trolling us.

For Terran there is, with Zerg and especcially Protoss, there's nothing cool and 'versatile' going around

i think it's pretty funny that all terran gets from the expansion is a transforming hellion.

imagine if BW, instead of the valkyrie and medic, only brought a mode for the vulture where it stood on two legs.

Hellion mode, zip to expo, roast all workers, transform to marauder mode, kill all buildings at expo, transform to hellion mode, escape before player notices his expo is killed.

It's not so much about just plain more but offering more options to all three races to benefit gameplay. No one with a clear mind expects this game to be really balanced before like 2015.
I feel like the best part about the other 2/3 of sc2 will not be the straight up new stuff but the changed stuff and the modified stuff together with moar upgrades. Terran right may be the most versatile race but it's not complete. And toss and zerg are both far away from being versatile, especially toss is really stellar right now with only having two real tech patterns for the late game (being coloss and ht tech while stargate tech is somewhat useless).

yes true atm, but tweaking units could give many possibilities, for example make corruption an aoe damage debuff

i certainly would prefer if they spent time on underused or poorly designed units first
