Maybe it's an infested hellion like that infested bunker they showed off a year or so ago. Showing a "Terran" unit first could be their way of messing with everyone since everyone would expect Zerg units to be shown off first.

This is a hellion upgrade. Or a new bio unit altogether.
I wouldn't mind a firebat/hellion thing.
Maybe they're going to give us this siege firebat, and then give us vulture bikes back. with mines.

What about a permanent transformation that switches the Hellions ground only fire based attack to an anti air fire based attack. It would be useful if Zerg would get Scourges and other new air units in combination with Mutalisks. Especially the splash damage. The shields could be used to show its buffed defense since it can't hit ground anymore, but it is a ground unit.

Thors are slow tanky units, and if they are super fast mobile additions to Zergs air play, they could just be flown around and only attacked with critical mass.

If its a mech unit, It better replace the thor.

I'm actually guessing, that vehicle mode is flame mode and bionic mode is conc shells, so yeah a combo between marauder hellion looks just about right.

Probably will be a tech lab barracks unit. Requires factory to research transform into vehicle mode. Basically reaper speed will be replaced by this upgrade and reapers/marauders/hellions will be removed.

sounds like an effective way to end up with 2 units less (room for more), but it would seem that unit would be too flexible

I have a feeling they will reveal the unit during Blizzcon. The timing is just too perfect.

Best guess imo.. Blizzard is going along to differentiate each race with their own theme as much as possible. They already have Vikings that transforms, and back in early alpha/demo, Thor transforms into fortress Maximus. This is consistent with the theme... Hellion that transforms

We noticed that the hellion wasn't getting enough play due to the fact that they could sometimes be killed. There were a handful of light units that could beat hellions when the ratio was only 4:1. We decided to fix this by giving hellions the ability to transform in order to give up mobility for +5 armor.

I think you might be on to something here. If I'm not mistaken, Terran is the only race lacking an area-of-effect crowd control spell (Protoss have Forcefields, and Zergs have Fungal)
