All I want is a good environment for Stephano, all I see is people talking crap about things they know nothing about. I'm not even sure if it's jealousy or stupidity from the posts i read, but let him do what he wishes to do? It's pretty clear there was some sort of pressure, how on earth would he change his mind this quick ? I am GLAD we have this kind of law in France and this is totally logical to me. I'm quite sure two out of three people here would have lost his mind in front of "that much money", come on :/
I will support Stephano whatever happens. GoGo Power Rangers !

Complexity should just drop it and wish him the best of luck. If they want him to do well they should let him live with his decision.
Time and resources invested in recruiting the player. I don't know of him though.
The reason is not money or time... It's all about Moral. coL is one of the leading teams in esports. They want proffesionalism and one aspect of that is to respect a contract!
-_- They're not really a leading team. Sure they want him to honor the contract, but they probably won't win in the end. Sue him and all he has to do is ask his current team to delay salary or cancel the contract and make good on it later. I think he should respect the contract, but what they don't want is to waste time evaluating a player boosting his salary in a bidding war only to find out that player has loyalty elsewhere.
I really hope complexity sues stephano over this, not because i dont like stephano or i want complexity to get money etc., but as a statement to esports that contracts have to be respected in order to get a bit professionalism in this.
And dont talk about stephano getting misinformed by tricky sentences or grammar...... He is 18 and should know how to read. Dont act like he is a 10-year-old kid.
At his age he should be fully responsible for hsi actions.

And what if the contract DIDN'T fullfill all the requirements and was in fact quite aweful? How come people can say stuff like "They should sue him" when they have no idea what the contract said or what really happened?
All we have are two teams who both do PR, one saying the contract isn't valid and one saying it probably is. How fucking hard can it be to wait and see?

Short of the entire contract being made public, we will never know.

Idra has said on State of the game that his Salary is above $100,000 and it was rumored that HuK was offered 6 digits from EG when they picked him up. I really wouldn't be surprised if Stephano was offered around 100,000 from Complexity, looking at their sponsor list.
None of this was ever said.
edit: except the rumors about Huk's salary being 6 digits
Here is an interview where HuK talks about him being in the top 3 highest paid salaries in the world, also mentions that Min Chul (oGsMC) made a quarter million dollars in salary last year:
(The video is copied from when they start talking about salaries)
No he said he made 250k in prize money. 2x GSL and foreign tournaments.
MC has made 210,000 dollars in Tournament winnings in his StarCraft II career. That isn't a quarter million. Additionally, last year MC made about $90,000 from tournament winnings, and HuK said 'last year'. From the interview it sounds like he's talking about salary.
Regardless, this is getting really off topic. My point was that I was surprised that Stephano didn't unhold his CoL deal as i would imagine they can offer better financial support.

Ok so why bother making stupid suggestions when all the facts will never be presented? I really don't understand the TL community when it comes to drama. They bandwagon like crazy, make up scenarios based on a few hundred words of PR and overall go apeshit when they have practically nothing to go on.
When I was 18 I went to a car dealership and bought a car. While signing they also managed to talk me into a "Car protection program' which would warrant my car against a whole long list of things.
After signing and walking out, I was told that the majority of problems cars will have are "wear and tear" and that none of those would be covered.
I fought the contact, and lost, and paid for the protection program that I never used/wanted/needed. Then I took this lesson into the next car I bought, and had a big "fuck you" ready for the next dealer when they offered me the same scheme.
At 18 life is about lessons. Complexity need to push the issue here to send the message home to not only Stephano but also any other young, impressionable players.
It is a pity to see that people are interested in the team millenium when it is about an absurd drama (see the size of the topics).
On the other hand when Mill organizes a online tournaments (which takes place today), nobody seems Interested... Nevertheless the invited players are the best in europe
thorzain, whitera, stephano , nerchio etc (all the top EU ) ... and just 18 reply in the post : s pathetic

And what exactly is the message ?
Do you really think that it will help them recruit new players ?
Not to mention, the message sent when they loose in court. And Millenium team after studying the contract don't seem to have the slightest doubt on the issue of such a trial.
Complexity should have contacted Millenium directly while they were going after Stephano.
This is also a moral rule that has caused drama in the past (PuMa is the most obvious example). If coL doesn't follow the moral rules (and not contacting the team that the player is playing for is sneaky), then the legal rules are what's left.
The conclusion of this story though is that many teams agree on the beast potential Stephano has, let's hope this is not wasted and that we'll see him competing at the best level!
coL annoucment was supposed to be made in on week and not immediately after the contract has been signed for what i understand according to the moderator of his stream on justintv, thats one of the reason why the drama has begun because millenium was not aware stephano signed the contract so late in the night and had no way to reply back so quickly.

hah... iirc weren't Col and Millenium in a bidding war for Stephano?
Not to sound like a dick, but, they said "one of the highest paid sc2 players", does his achievements even warrant that kind of pay? Its not like they're trying to pick up MVP, or something....

If the contract is undesirable in any way, then he shouldn't have signed it in the first place. Who goes ahead and signs a contract, especially one as significant as this one without thoroughly going it over? Hell, I'd even get some legal advice on it. A contract is a contract and he broke it.
