We all know and love the "perfect" Protoss army composition of Gateway/Collosus/Void Ray, which is largely known as the original "deathball".

Recently, I've seen tree.hugger (who writes quite a few articles here on TL) using the expression "deathcloud" to refer to the "perfect" Zerg army composition of Brood Lords/Infestors/Corruptors/Lings and/or Roaches.

(Both armies are highly immobile, of course, and this is why they are balanced to be so strong)

This leaves us with the question: what should we call the "perfect" Terran army composition of Ghost/Mech???

Write you suggestion down! If there are enough good suggestiongs, I'll make a poll

The original "deathball" in SC was coined during the BW days, referring to Terran Mech vs Protoss at 140-200 supply and 2/2 mech upgrades.

Hence, we shall retain "deathball" for Terran and find a new name for the Protoss "perfect" composition.

Ok, ok, you do have a point ... still, the name has been stolen and I doubt it will be given back
I added it to the OP, though

We shall find a way to do this. Goody our leader, onward Terran!

The perfect compositon for protoss I remember was called back in korea referred to as the "Laser protoss", referring to the voidrays and colossus lasers.

depends? Mech has a time and a place, but other times biomech/bio is just what you want and there is no transition. I guess ghost mech would theoretically be strongest in TvZ, but then it has mobility issues. I also still think 3/3 bio with ghost is best in TvP over any sort of mech composition, and in TvT it just gets fucking weird with raven/ghost/viking/bc

TvT deathball composition is by far the most interesting and I'd name it spooky sky terran

to the people saying there is no perfect army comp, lets just say if you were given unlimited minerals and 200/200 supply, what kind of army will you make (given you don't know what you're facing).

Raven. MANY Ravens :D

Surely 200 supply of battle cruiser with maybe a few ravens would roll almost everything?

Its extremely situational, if your facing a late game zerg with no broodlords, you want no vikings, if they have them, then you obviously do want vikings.

A late game toss could have 7 collosus, or they could have no collosus, and have a ton of archons and HT's.

You cant just make a "perfect" 200/200 army and win, you have to adapt.

I don't think there exists a perfect Terran ball. The builds for T are a heck of a lot more diverse and sticking to one "paradigm", for lack of a better term, doesn't seem appropriate.

Terran works best in a death line with a bouncing ball of marines patrolling it.

Do your thing. No matter what.

I didn't mean for this to be a discussion of what the ideal deathball actually is, but aside (maybe) from a 200/200 BC/Raven army (which is almost impossible to reach is a regular game), no Terran army is gonna be as strong in a straight up fight as a mech army, at the expense of mobility. A few ghosts in there against Toss and a lot vs Zerg would complete the army. You can have other stuff (vikings, ravens, etc) in there if you want, but the meat of the army will still be the siege tanks and the thors.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere!

Still, there should be a name for the mech equivalent
