i'm glad to see delta quadrant be removed though. hated it. slag pits was also an ugly map.
we'll see how the new maps look like.
it seems silly that there is only one 2 players map (xel'naga) left in the 1v1 map pool.

I was assuming either metal or XNC were going to go this season and I wish that it was XNC. Metal cross positions was a great game, didn't have the advantage of close by air for Z and didn't have a rush distance that literally spanned the third base. The other 3 maps were my veto list, hopefully I won't have a problem with the new maps, but according to some other posters in this thread, it will prolly suck. I wonder what it would take to be able to have an ICCUP ladder that you can get on instead of the Blizzard ladder... that would be awesome. | ||

Blizz said that they only want 3 macro maps and consider Meta a macro-maps. They wouldn't remove tal'darim since it's the only map coming from the professional scene...they wouldn't remove shakuras either, since it has been reworked several times, which would have made the effort redundant. They wanted to introduce a new macro-map, therefore one had to go - Meta was the easy choice. Nevertheless I really wanted to see Backwater Gulch go, oh well, at least with DQ and scrap station gone I have free thumb downs to use. | ||

TLPD, both Korean and International, which is based on an even higher level than whatever they think the highest levels are, says it's pretty damn balanced. And they usually play fixed versions that are even more 'zerg favored' which really means 'not extremely zerg punishing'. | ||
