If you didn't tune into the new State of the Game last night with JP and the pillars of Starcraft 2 you may have missed an enormous announcement by Day[9]. Day[9] announced his "After Hours Gaming League". This league introduces major companies such as Facebook and Google into Starcraft 2 and Esports!
http://afterhoursgaming.tv/ is the official website for the league. You can find an "About" and "Press" sections on the site for further detailed information. The games will be played on their website as well as Day[9]'s stream. It looks as games started June 30th, last Thursday.
The finals will be held August 19th at the Facebook campus in Palto Alto, California!
An interesting piece of information:
Day[9]TV will donate the $5,000 grand prize to the winner’s charity of choice
Day[9] indeed is putting his full attention on the growth of Esports! With this league he is attempting to bring in some of the biggest and best tech companies in the world! Support from these kind of companies could change Esports.
