Sean really is a genius. This move by him is just so incredibly well thought out and focused. Best of luck with this endeavor and here's hoping these companies take a further interest in helping to grow western e-sports.

Universities and companies sometimes have sports teams and they fight for prestige. In comparison, a computer game is often viewed as just a computer game. You can play with your computer to kill time. It is an activity which requires maybe fast mouse clicking but no real effort and practice. I don't think that good computer games belong in that corner. It is real sports. I am glad that this league exists and makes the first step.

Looks very promising

I'm glad the megumixbear thing was explained, I saw the team rosters and thought that name looked familiar. Weird.

Anyways, excited for the league ^^

I don't think you understand how the world works. There are hundreds of corporate softball, basketball, and soccer leagues in the US alone. Playing in those leagues inevitably increases their participation as a spectator to the sport as well as other friends around them. Not only that, but it pushes games in general into better light as each of these teams probably has some level of permission and/or involvement from upper management to put their name in this tournament.

Believe it or not, but the growth of esports happens one person at a time, and this is what the league does.

Very well stated. Thanks for supporting us!

Well, honestly, I was rooting for Google in that first match. You guys are a close 2nd favorite though! :D

I really care more about support for the league tho - we want everyone to have fun with us!

To all the haters, watch the beginning of day9's daily from yesterday: http://blip.tv/day9tv/day-9-daily-319-tvz-less-is-more-5348566 for a good explanation.

This whole concept of a league, keeps begging me to ask one question....

Any one hiring?

Though that question being semi serious and sarcastic at the same time, i still have to congratulate day9 for putting something this crazy and brilliant together.

I understand that SC2 skill has nothing to do with applicable job skills, but your question gave me an idea. What if one of these companies held their own tournament and gave away a job to the winner? I know there are a million and one "problems" with that idea, but I'm at least curious as to the turnout they would get.

True but i do have a degree and graduated about a year or so ago and have been applying away lol.

Though a tournament for a job would be kind of awesome... i would be first in line, or sign up... or however it goes down.

Awesome idea sean

this guy cracked me up :

Whom do you fear most amongst the competition and why?

I fear Google, because they presumably are still playing the beta, and Protoss was pretty OP back then.

so megumixbear is actually a guy huh?

No, that's actually the fake megumixbear who goes around bming people on bnet pretending to be her. This is an interesting surprise because Day9 is friends with the real megumixbear and now the imposter is in his league.

It's actually a problem for her because he goes around bnet introducing himself as her and stuff he does comes back at her cause people think it's her. She had to change her name to all lower case to try to avoid confusion. Wonder what Day 9 will think about this. I mean I don't really have respect for someone pretending to be someone else online. Kind of weird and juvenile in my mind.

I really don't think Day9 would stand for someone making a mockery of one of his friends, but this is also his brand new league so he's in an interesting predicament. However, I really don't think it's a big deal if Day9 requests him to use a diff bnet id. Now whether the fake would agree to that without putting up a stink is another issue altogether.

That seems to me to be a rather biased interpretation of what I do. I do not go around Bnet saying "hi guys, I'm tricia^^" or anything like that. I'm not some crazy psycho who just randomly picks on people for no reason, either. I've been in the community quite a long time, and there are distinct reasons for why we ended up in this situation but I did not with other people in the past.
Day[9] is welcome to request whatever he wants, but I'm not going to use a different account name just because of who his friend is. It's the account I play by far the most on, my friends play with me on it, and the account is my SC2 presence. If he chooses to ban me from it, I would question what I did to actually deserve it - I'm not harassing anyone in his league (and I never tried to pretend that I am her when I submitted my application or account info) and I'm following all the rules to my knowledge.
You can't admin a league by letting your own personal dislikes / friends affect your judgment.

yeah fake megumixbear and real megumixbear have had problems in the past and he would harass her. he also played with sorcery the hacker o.O and still does ;o whether or not he still hacks

Just to make sure people are clear about what you're saying, I have never hacked, nor to my knowledge have I ever had serious accusations (beyond the random accusations everyone inevitably gets) of being a hacker. Yes, Sorcery (who, believe it or not, is a friend of mine and who I did, after struggling with the issue, forgive for his past) hacked in the past - I do not believe he currently hacks, and I'd rather not derail the topic about AHGL with some great drama bomb about myself and him.

You using a girl's screenname itself is creepy and causing confusion. Surely you aren't ignorant enough to deny this. This represents Microsoft poorly. Do your company a favor and get out of the drama circle. Just a recommendation.
