I don't know why people are hating so much on Blizzard. Account sharing in any way is not allowed according to the ToS and EULA. Everyone that read the thread about 'piracy kills LAN' understands why Blizz don't want to add LAN to SC2. Letting people share accounts also makes them lose some money, especially when a pro-player is doing it on a stream, which 'encourages' other players to do so as well. Blizard just wants to defend their money, and their action didn't affect anyone at all, it was just a warning to not encourage people to share accounts.

The ladder is a joke in terms of maps, management, points vs mmr etc. The channels on b.net cannot be moderated by anyone the way you could in SC1 and WC3. Imput limit Reached. The map search function is shit. You are never able to find any maps because they are not aranged alphabetically at any times and they are never aranged in likely of match when you search for something.
You might search of "ESL" and then before you get to click on the map you want you have to scroll 7 pages and search for the map among other maps that don't even have "ESL" in them.
YOU ARE A JOKE enforcing crappy rules like this but not fixing your battle.net 2.0. I would seriously rather play SC2 on Battle.net 1.0 with the SC BW interface !
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not just the incident itself that's getting people angry. The fact that they bother to do this while ignoring stuff like ^ while the community is pretty much carrying their game to it's current popularity.

oh noes they might call me because i share an account with my brother =( and we both have 500 wins per race >_>

really arent doing themselves any favors
great for them making the game, but why do they have to constantly act without any consideration to those who appreciate it?

But when blizzard calls them up and asks em not to and then threatens action they get a huge PR mess... It's really dumb Pretty sure that's not that reason they dislike it. It's more like, "Oh Huk is doing it, so I guess it's okay and Blizz doesn't care." Also, if anyone ever gets banned for it, there will always be the debate of why John Doe Diamond league gets banned for it, yet Huk can do it with no repercussions. So really, Blizzard's decision to enforce their rules, with no exceptions is a smart one. Whether you agree with the rules or not is a separate matter. My thoughts exactly. exactly. 1 exception becomes a million exceptions. the rules exist for a reason.

They can enforce their policies and still work on everything else. The two things have nothing in common and the guy who made the call does not work on developing battle.net 2.0.

This is blizz going we want everyone who plays this game to pay us money PER ACCOUNT cause were money hungry and dont make enough billions "really classy move from a really classy company".

This. I have watched HuK ladder on his stream with TLO's account this week, maintaining the #1 position for TLO who is not playing at all. I can see Blizzard being upset about this.

doesn't matter, banning a starcraft2 account doesn't do anything. it costs $40 for a new one, its not like banning an mmo account. and its blizzard's fault that player's had to resort to his because of their lack of services provided through the game. regardless, i hope nothing arises of this and I feel that blizzard just wanted to feel important.
edit: oh someone warn blizzard, in the gstl they are using accounts named team names "oGs" for the whole team. 7 people are account sharing. someone please warn blizzard, this is a dire issue. sarcasm over. yes this is a slightly different circumstance, however, the same "eula infringement" is being "committed".
|
I think this has to be in response to the blizzard.net invitational response. They want to crack down on account sharing and the mmr fluctuations on high level accounts so they know who to invite. How they did it was poor but it was their first try and maybe next time =/

Shit people need to stop streaming quick before blizzard decides its against the rules to watch an SC2 account that isn't yours.
|
well first of all, blizzard only advised, they HAVE not banned, jumping the gun to fast guys?, they simply warned.. Being warned first is a whole lot better than being instantly banned. This shows they are rational, while thread OP is trying to make a case that blizzard is irrational.
Edit: This it not supposed to be another blizzard hate thread,
when you find yourself saying crap like this, its exactly the intention of the thread, to promote blizzard hate..
if you said, 'well not to be rude" but you are fat in that dress. Are you still not being rude? lol
this is yet another blizzard hate fest, for something they havent even done. I still see TLO account alive and well. This just makes me lol.
About the account not being able to find games, First of all lets not pretend there is no reason for that, the only way the matchmaker can compromise is by purposely saying fuck it, you will now face a much weaker opponent , Realistically that is like blizzard promoting smurfing. If the system cant find matches for you because you are to good, what you guys are basically saying is let the matchmaker give a bunch of walkovers and promote smurfing.
Why couldnt huk just find games and leave instantly instead?, do that for numerious games and im pretty sure you will be able to start finding back games . Instead this time its not blizzard promoting smurfing.

Hope they (Blizzard) read this and apologize. Because I'm gravely offended by this filth.
They want Huk to buy a copy for each region so he can compete? NA, SEA, KR, EU, China, Russia etc etc.
Will wait for the apology to be posted by blizz.

i think team liquid should be able to afford an account for each of their players on each server...its a one-time cost.
it isn't really excusable that Huk play on TLO's account. I agree with blizzard because they are a business and having people openly 'cheating the system' on a streamed event is unacceptable. although i think that blizzard should probably let this one go assuming that Huk gets his own EU account soon. I can see why they wouldn't want to delay playing to obtain an account for Huk during the homestory cup...

Exactly. The hate needs to stop... Granted, the timing could have been better for making this confrontation (in the middle of a tournament), but I don't blame Blizzard at all. TLO's Grandmaster spot should really be given up for someone else due to inactivity, but HuK has allowed it to stay at the top of the ladder. In a competitive setting like Blizzard is trying to create, that's not ok. And they let the people responsible know.
Edited for clarity

Piracy has nothing to do with why Blizzard won't implement LAN or is against random, non-malicious account sharing. It's all about control, 'lost sales' of individual copies is not a factor.

this whole thing is ridiculous, enforcing rules against account sharing between two teammate professional gamers that are also two of the very highest profile players of their game that basically sell thousands of copies for them, seriously.
and i don't know where people get this thing that they told them to not publicly account share, they told them to not share accounts flat, now how can you not bitch about region locks since that's the whole reason why these guys need to account share, 1+1
and i agree with the whole "set an example" thing in principle, but dude, letter of the law vs. spirit of the law much ?
another embarassing move, and over the years these things stack uo until you just go meh and possibly stop paying attention to their games however good they might be, i for one am getting pretty tired with bilzz's approach to the community for the past couple of years

lmfao. who would have thought that we took the unlimited accounts provided to us in bw for granted? ffs..
|
why cant Huk just buy an european account? He won like over 100k swedish kroner
