Geoff 'iNcontroL' Robinson leaves the us-american topleague NASL. One of the most important persons behind the project, who promoted it in february, will not be part of the team after NASL Season 1.
He told this decision after his NASL-cast yesterday. In the future he will performe as a pro-player, no more as a caster, and therefore he is switching to the EG pro-gaming house. He is also planing to compete in "awesome" international events like the DreamHack or the HSC3.
What this means for the NASL is completly obscure. As iNcontroL wrote above the second season is safe. He will also make some guest apperances.
there absolutely will be a season 2!!
I even spoke about how gretorp will continue casting alongside other casters and I will make guest appearances.

Nice

i believe he wants to focus more on competing than full time casting
|
Ahhhhhh.........
I'm having mixed feelings about this

Pretty sure Xeris is the most important considering he runs it. But bye Geoff you will be missed <3
|
nooooo! iNcontroL was seriously the best part about the NASL... gonna be hard to find a caster (and general e-sportsman) good enough to replace him IMO.

Umm... what? How exactly is this nice? Not saying it's bad, but I have absolutely no idea what you mean.

They already guaranteed 4 seasons.

good for him... geoff has done incredible things for the community but cant wait to see him buckle down and start practicing hardcore like in the past. plus then we can see him roll over the nerds who doubt his skill

day9 for new NASL caster!

We are also running a qualifier atm for season 2... please fix OP

Well he was saying a while ago that the NASL was already signed on for three seasons, I doubt their backers are suddenly going to pull out.
GL with your future endeavors, Geoff. <3

I know he wants to focus on gaming more, so more power to him. Do what you need to do Geoff. As for the NASL, who cares? There are plenty of good casters and people out there to do this. He is a good caster and fun to listen to, but there are others that I am sure would jump right in.

They guaranted 3 seasons (1+2 with 100.000 US-Dollar and season 3 with 200.000 US-Dollar), but a guarante can also be broken, as some esport events showed before (ESWC, ...)

I have a feeling one season nasl is all we're going to get. Personally I wouldn't mind anyway online tournaments aren't interesting anyway especially when it has people from all different servers competing.
|
GL Geoff! Although you guys had a shaky start, you and gretorp were really doing well casting together.
|
Incontrol has been a great to the community and now its going to be fun to watch him devote all of his time to being a player and excelling. Oh and I would love to see Day9 casting in the NASL, that would be so awesome and it would really increase it's popularity.
|
Why wouldnt there be another season just because Incontrol quits??
I can hardly believe that he would quit it if that would mean the end of the NASL.
edit: nvm

I love Geoff and what he has done for Starcraft 2. Good luck at your new endeavors!

Expecting him to win MLG providence now
