Well, this was sort of to be expected ever since he dropped SotG, I mean it would be sort of useless for him to save himself 2 hours a week for practice and still be spending like 15+ hours on NASL, gl as a player iNcontrol.

Awesome! iNcontroL is such an interesting character it will be nice to see what he does now that he has more time to focus on playing the game and improving.

The current casters for NASL are downright abysmal imo, knowing that Inc isn't coming back just makes it that much harder to want to keep up with the league. I hope this works out well for him because I'm a fan, but I really am worried about NASL until I see some stable and professional casting. Best of luck in those tournaments Inc.

Good luck iNcontroL! You are a great caster, with a good mix of knowledge and humor, you will be missed. On the other hand I am excited to see what you got when you can focus more of your time on playing competitively. Shall be interesting, we will have to see what happens along the way.

edit: Will you be streaming more often? I never seem to be around when you are....

This decision pains me as it's like watching someone you like make bad choices. I'm sorry but Geoff isn't a community mega star because of his stellar performances as a professional player. He's beloved because of who he is, his personality and what he brings to the community through shows like SOTG and being an entertaining caster.

I felt him leaving SOTG was a bad choice because its basically the platform that launched him to fame in STARCRAFT 2 (we all know Geoff was known by the small foreigner BW people). Now leaving the NASL is just #2 in the bad decisions he's made.

I understand he wants to be a top level player and competition is his passion but at some level you have to be wise about your options and future. Retracting into the bowels of competitive play when you have the entire SC2 community spotlight is just a terrible decision.

Geoff should embrace his role as an esports ambassador and excelling community member, that is where he will 'make it'. Does Geoff think hes gained so much fame and notoriety, commercial deals and casting jobs because of his playing skills? Does he think he's being invited to intel panels and traveling on company dimes because he's a top player? Let's be real...

Anyway, I wish him all the luck as a player. EG was one of my favorite teams pre-starcraft. I just think these moves he's been making to reduce his community involvement to focus on playing more are foolish.

edit: I know this post sounds harsh like I'm an incontrol hater but nothing could be further from the truth. I will cheer incontrol on throughout his gaming career and root for EG almost always. It's just hard to see someone come so far from the obscurity of brood war to toss aside some really great opportunities because they want to be a 'champ.' What I just posted about incontrol I would say to my best friend if the situation existed.

Glad to see Incontrol focus on his pro-gaming career. Looking forward to seeing him progress at the EG house. Good luck.

It's possible that there's a lot going on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of, then again it's possible that incontrol simply felt like he couldn't be a top tier player (which seems to be his main aspiration) and do all the nasl stuff so he cut out the dead weight.

In his current condition, hes not a top tier player. I'm not trying to pile on incontrol or anything but if you watch his games he does seem to over rely on gimmicky play. His 4th place at mlg dallas was a good result but if you look at his path there it's honestly a bit of a fluke. I don't think he can consistently beat top tier players in standard games and that's the reality for him right now. He probably feels it too otherwise he wouldn't be taking this action.

This is the best thing for all parties. Incontrol is a decent caster but not exactly Tastosis standard so I'm sure NASL can replace him and all these distractions are obviously limiting his practice time. If he were to really go for it in the practice house he could probably become the best Protoss in NA (ignoring Huk).

This seems like the most logical course if iNcontroL wants to succeed as a player.
I'll be rooting for him!

If they put two top of the line casters into their league, NASL would be a much bigger hit. Day9 + DJwheat or something. The quality of games (when not walkovers) are good... just needs that caster swagger.

I love that he is leaving. Glad even. I'd rather he focus as a player and not waste his potential. Very excited to see the results of these NA based team houses.

I like this because Geoff is an amazing player, and he hasn't been playing as well overall as he potentially could be because he was focusing so little time on staying awesome at playing professionally.

NASL will be less entertaining and appealing to me but it is the right choice for him as a competitor. Best of luck to him. iNcontroL fighting!

Sorry to see you go iNcontroL I really, REALLY enjoyed the casting you and Gretorp did for the regular season. The humor you and him instill in the quality casting made it an extremely entertaining, and to be frank, really brought my interest in competitive eSports to a boil. I'm very sad to see you go, I will look forward to your guest appearances very much. Good luck competing! As a Zerg player, you're the protoss I most wish to succeed.

This is good news IMO, and I honestly expected it. Incontrol helped out by bringing in viewers and hyping it (lol) and now he gets to focus on being a player. Good luck Geoff! I think this is a good decision for you.

I will miss his humor in his casts though. At least he will probably cast in some other things like the EGMC.
