But...I understand your decision and support you 100%! To any of the haters out there... I've spent hundreds of hours watching Geoff (iNcontroL) streaming, casting, and even several hours being directly coached by him. I've watched him on State of the game, Inside the game, and tons of youtube archives of him. I can tell you through all of these hundreds of hours that he is: - honest - trustworthy - a great player - truly LOVES SC2 and the community (so if you're reading this...this includes YOU) - has a driving competitive spirit - a great sense of humor - professional - dozens of other great qualities Through hundreds of hours of personal experience, I have found Geoff to have tons of love for our SC2 community...and this will always prevail over everything else. ("All we need is Love" - The Beatles) Geoff, thank you for ALL you have done, all you are doing, and all you continue to do for SC! Keep up the great work...and... iNcontroL fighting!

He certainly made more money from casting / coaching stuff than placing high in tournaments (I don't recall any of his success excluding pretty lucky MLG 4 place). Pretty ballsy decision from him, I respect that he decided to take gaming seriously. Not sure if it'll pay off, but still I wish him the best of luck. Any science student could make triple their money if they majored in finance instead. But they don't because they have a passion for science. Same situation here, except Incontrol also believes he can make just as much money as a competitor, which very well may end up being true.. Incontrol wants to be a competitor, not a caster.

Casting consumes about 7-8 hours a day minimum of Geoff's time, 5-6 days a week. Many days it ended up being more like 12 hours when prep-time, re-shooting certain segments, recording promotional segments, etc, is included. It is exactly the same as trying to have a full-time job and trying to be a pro-gamer at the same time -- it's very difficult.

And the guy specifically mentioned NASL as one of iNcontrol's other commitments that prevents him from being able to keep up with his commitments to his team. So this whole thing is sort of weird, and unfortunate for fans of the NASL I think. But best of luck to iNcontrol, both with this and the whole SotG situation, which he sounded pretty upset about last night.

I was listening to him on Inside the Game (is that what it's called?), but the head of eG was saying that he left SotG for the same reason. Geoff wants to be a pro player, and a top top player at that. Currently he cannot do that because he is doing other shit 50+ hours week (with NASL being a huge time sink) so he reduced some of those things. Makes sense to me.

I just meant that it seems sort of hypocritical to use his commitment to NASL as a main reason why he can't continue to SotG, but then for him to immediately leave NASL. And again, I wish no ill will towards iNcontrol or eG, I'm sure they'll both be just fine.

Its debateable to see what it is better to become, a well-known caster or a come and go player... but hey i suppose we can't miss judge. I would agree with this post 100% before he started casting in the NASL. After that + the restreaming GSL/thrash talking kelly "scandals" i think he was being way to "careful" in his casts. Which made him just awkward instead of funny in my opinion. So i guess what im trying to say is that, for me atleast, this is a good thing. Bring back the old Incontroll plx!

We are also running a qualifier atm for season 2... please fix OP Good to hear. Good luck competing iNcontroL, I imagine it was difficult trying to compete with all of the extra stuff you were doing (commentating a TON of games with NASL, AND the other stuff that you used to do like inside the game and SotG). All told, you probably have like 20 hours or more of extra time each week now. iNcontroL hwaiting!
