I'm happy to hear that, as much as I think iNcontroL loves doing extracirricular activities of casting, traveling for business events, and attending podcasts, his heart and soul is still all about the game he loves. Go go go!

I am actually happy for him. I never really watch NASL, so if he gets more time to practice, that means we should see him getting a lot better. Go back to SotG though!

Good luck InControl ... always enjoyed his commentary and hosting on State of the Game, but part of me respects him even more as a competitor, considering he's willing to give up what really is a great and unique opportunity to be a pro.

I always thought Inc was spreading himself too thin with casting, being a well known face at mlg/wcg/everything else + all the coaching + all the other little (or not so little) stuff like being on stog most every week...didn't leave the time for him to be all he could be as a player in my opinion but now he can do that which is awesome.

great decision, looking forward to it.

@INcontrol

Sad news for me, as i love the way you cast. I think you have the perfect blend between game understanding and charisma. But i'd like to say you are doing something very brave. You are exchanging something good and certain for a chance at something harder but more valuable to you.

I wish you the best, and whatever happens, i'm sure the casting world (and us, your audience) will take you back should it come to that

Cheers!!!

It's nice that he wants to focus on being a pro player, and wish the best for him.

I can only hope this may also be the resurrection of pre-nasl iNcontroL personaility, and that he'll be less worried about his public image. I miss the old iNcontroL : /

bad news because he's awesome in NASL

I really loved his casting but I guess he wants to be a player and not a caster so good move for him!

good luck geoff, lets hope you knock it out of the park in season 2 with all the extra practice!

I think it's an excellent choice from incontrol to focus more on his playing career. Yeah he'll be sorely missed at the casting station but I think he still has much more to give as a player and it would've been a shame to see him lose focus and determination through other obligations. I wish you all the best and hope to see you kick some nerd ass in future tournaments!

I'm very happy about this decision made by Geoff. I really want to see more of him as a player. I think this will benefit his play immensely.

aww Gretorp + inc was my favorite NASL casting combo....

TBH I think you fit the community caster/personality more than the pro-player but GL anyway

I will always respect someone who is willing to give its best to improve as a player! The EG clanhouse is a great initiative, so it is worth to dive in in this opportunity. If it all fails, there will always be room for casting again. GL!

Geoff has a talent for extracting himself from situations when he feels that he's no longer making a positive impact. .... With gosu coaching, gosu camp, etc. - all instances where geoff displayed mature, professional and responsible qualities by leaving because he felt that, in his opinion, his best interests were elsewhere and therefor he wouldn't be able to continue effectively.

Geoff is, like always, very classy.

This was kind of a given after the announce of the EG team house and that Geoff was moving there. Since that's in AZ and NASL is in CA, it could be easily assumed he wouldn't be casting Season 2, full time at least.

I do think it's a good move for Geoff. The casting booth will be there later. He can obviously compete at a high level, so he should take the opportunity to do it. Win a few things, then he can make everyone laugh all over the place. Chief Moon will wait!
