I'm not really interested in NASL as much as MLG DH and GSL. For some reason it doesn't give me that "spark" I guess I like the live aspect of tournaments more, NASL is truly not live because they cut out parts and one moment you would see a caster then the next moment there would be another caster. 9 Weeks for group stages seems too long, and I feel like I just wanted the season to be over after those 9 weeks. GSL also feels slow during the first week or so but come Round of 8 were pretty much looking at the finals already. I know thats how its probably gonna be for the playoffs though as well.

Best of luck Incontrol! I was not a huge fan of you but maybe this choice will change that.
We got them GOM TvT's and them mlGG's

Wish it would have been Gretorp to be quite honest -- you will be missed Geoff. Good luck as you get back into gaming-only mode.

Bring in Mr. Bitter.

Gretorp as the main caster for NASL.... so sad. I can completely understand and cheer for iNcontrol pushing to up his game and making the sacrifices necessary to do so, but I wish NASL would also push to improve their game by dumping completely lame casters.
I'm the benevolent dictator you've been looking for.

I called this when I heard he was leaving SotG. With the hints he was dropping about moving into the EG house, it just seemed like he wants to fully focus on being a player. He can't do that with casting NASL.

Good luck Geoff in playing the game you love.

And I am eager to see who casts along side Gretorp now. Gretrol will be missed.

This was kind of a given after the announce of the EG team house and that Geoff was moving there. Since that's in AZ and NASL is in CA, it could be easily assumed he wouldn't be casting Season 2, full time at least.

I do think it's a good move for Geoff. The casting booth will be there later. He can obviously compete at a high level, so he should take the opportunity to do it. Win a few things, then he can make everyone laugh all over the place. Chief Moon will wait!

I hope this ends up being the case. I hope he's built himself up enough as a beloved community member that no matter how well he performs as a pro he can always comeback to the casting/podcast/figurehead spotlight. While I already expressed my disagreement with his decision what is done is done and look forward to see EG step it up with the pro house. I hope Machine, Incontrol and Axslav/Strifecro (my fav war3 2v2 team) improve leaps and bounds and become a real power kid team.

I can't say I didn't see this coming. Good move from both parties, Geoff's schedule was just way too harsh for him to retain his same caliber of play and NASL can of course still have him cast every now and then. But people have responded very positively to a lot of the other guest casters as well and it makes for an interesting format. Either way I hope both succeed in their own way, NASL in being profitable and Geoff in winning the next MLG (HWAITING!).

Geoff '(P)iNcontroL' Robinson leaves the us-american topleague NASL. One of the most important persons behind the project, who promoted it in february, will not be part of the team after NASL Season 1.

He told this decision after his NASL-cast yesterday. In the future he will performe as a pro-player, no more as a caster, and therefore he is switching to the EG pro-gaming house. He is also planing to compete in "awesome" international events like the DreamHack or the HSC3.

What this means for the NASL is completly obscure. As iNcontroL wrote above the second season is safe. He will also make some guest apperances.

there absolutely will be a season 2!!

I even spoke about how gretorp will continue casting alongside other casters and I will make guest appearances.

This is one of the better moves he's made with his career. Hate to say it, but the same with StoG. Now, Geoff can truly flourish as the player he wants to be with far fewer distractions. My hat goes off to him.

I enjoyed him as a caster he was great. However I also enjoy watching him play, and with his drive to practice. I look forward to watching him at some huge tournaments in the future. Go Geoff!!

Geoff was a great caster and it sucks that he's going but moving into the EG house will make him an even better player can't wait to see what he does in the future and maybe now he can do sotg every once in a while.

Incontrol was like the Captain of the ship that is NASL. Someone put it nicely saying that NASL is a sinking ship/rickety boat with no direction. And now it feels like Inc is jumping ship. The funny thing is that he was the Captain that told everyone to get on board in the first place. Remember all the hype he created? Well it fell flat and now he is leaving T_T

I just feel sorry for NASL and I hope it gets another caster and gets some badly needed help.

Yeah......... An online tournament featuring players from ALL different servers competing....I.... I will never understand some people. To me, NASL is one of the more awesome things in existence today..... I.... I dont WANT to understand some people. Please, DO NOT explain. I dont want to hear it.

Not that surprising. The NASL is a crap load of work, especially for someone with higher ambitions competitively.
