Fixed a bug that would cause some Leagues & Ladder pages not to show correctly.

Unfortunately I cannot provide a time line or patch number for fix application. • The category for featured maps is resetting to "all".It appears that when a map is "featured" it loses it's category tag (melee, Co-Op vs. AI, Custom, etc) and is no longer visible in the By Category tab for it's old category. We're investigating the issue and are working towards a solution. • The score screen is showing Rank 100 regardless of your actual rank in your league.We're aware of an issue where score screens will always show rank 100 after a match and are investigating the situation. Well, I did consider this when making it, one bug fix isn't really that much, but it came to my attention that some people wouldn't have the patch yet and might want to know it was coming.
Edit: I did search just then, and patch 1.2.2 had a thread that was closed for similar lack of discussion worthy content, I do apologise

hotfixes usually don't require patches, and they said they are working on a hotfix for the GM thing and that they would simply unlock the leagues once it was sorted.... could be tho

Its kinda like an "urgent" change rather than a balance change or something. They couldn't wait for a whole new tested patch to fix that bug, hence the minor patch. Balance changes, new features and stuff like that will come later.

Are you sure this is fixing the ladder lock and not just the display? Ehh probably, no reason to make a patch for such a small issue. Got my hopes up for Zerg nerfs as well. I am stuck in mid Masters, so the promotion thing is not affecting me that much.
But yeah, for Blizzard to make an entire patch on just that single bug fix is kind of irritating, they could have fixed a lot of other bugs.

Lol I logged onto my sea account where I had been trying to get out of bronze, lol so instead of fixing anything, in the win/lose screen it just shows me as rank 96 bronze now xD but the position doesnt change from one game to another either. Though still playing (and beating) gold and plat players....soo yeah not sure what the hell that patch was meant to do, but pretty sure it didnt do it.
EDIT: I am actually rank 4 bronze with 700 or so points from like 27 games or so, so whilst not top of my division, the one with the lowest games in the top 16 by far, and really, 700 points in few games should be enough for promotion, only people with 1000 or so points are above me, and they have either played 200 games or something, or are due for a promotion as well

Promotions and demotions are not "bugged", they are intencionally locked to avoid more players getting in the wrong GM division. That said, whatever the patch fix, it won't unlock the leagues alone, Blizzard needs to unlock it with a hotfix.
That's what I understand about the issue at least.

There was a bug with the GM, so they locked the ladders. It wasnt a bug that you couldnt get promoted.. but now they have fixed the GM so the ladders will probably be unlocked...

I get the same strange error after winning a match, it tells me that im rank 100 of what ever division.
but when I then click my profile, It does show the correct rank and so on.

Hmm so can people also post what region they are, if they have been promoted after thinking they should have been, or not been promoted when they thought they should, or been promoted when they didnt think they would?
Also please post your region if you are going to post that you are having the weird rank 100 (or last rank in your league) glitch on the score screen after you win/lose.
So yeah thought I would get promoted, did not, I get that weird glitch, both in 1v1 and 4v4 (presumably all formats), region is SEA, did not check my NA account yet.

It fixed promotion. Not everyone is ready for promotion either. Those who are will receive promotion upon theyre first WIN after this patch.
Blizzard has officialy stated that leagues are now unlocked after 1.3.4.

To people having issues with Input Limit Reached: it seems to be related to your friends list size. A while back I was getting it horribly with 99 friends, and after removing most of them it's a lot better now (usually only happens if I try to visit a bunch of profiles in a row now). I was also originally told that this is how to fix it (and by several people at that), so it worked for more than just me.

I'm in SEA and just played a couple of games, don't see the fix though. I am not sure how accurate my experience is, but I'm still in bronze despite having been 11-0 and being matched (and winning) against silver players.
Also run into an issue some people have already reported - at the end of a game, I see my rank is '95' although I'm currently 8th in my division.

It's times like these when being limited to a single service is such a downer. The only ladder we have for SC2 is clearly broken, at least until leagues are fixed or MMR is made public. Going on two weeks now.
Edit: I'm a now-bronze ex-gold ex-portrait-farmer whose MMR has clearly stabilized in the high gold/mid plat range, as those are the only players I face over the past 60-80 games. I think that I can fairly say that my account is a litmus test for bnet's promotion system, so I will post on promotion status when I can.

I got this as well. I checked the Battle.net forums and there hasn't been a post started in the bug report section, but I can't login to the forum either.

I'm not sure what the patch did other than create a new weird bug with 100 in your division being shown lol. regardless i wish blizzard would fix promotions.

SEA players are reporting the same thing happening when they reach the score screen. Is anyone NOT getting the rank 100 on the score screen? There may be a chance that only those up for promotion are getting it or that simply everyone is getting it until the leagues unlock. I'm thinking it's the latter.

It must be everyone, I am getting the bug in my RT 2v2's where I'm Masters rank 1 playing against other Masters, so I'd imagine that I'm not up for a demotion lol

Pure speculation, but I imagine it includes several changes to the warden and related hack detection. This seems to be why ladders were locked also, so that GM league wouldn't be 50% PiLLaGes.
Note that PiLLaGe's last game was on 5.10 and ladders were locked some time around 5.13.

It is funny because when I saw the 100 silver, unlike everyone here who thought they were getting a promotion,I thought I was doomed, becoming Johnny Bronze again.

Oddly enough, I never had a problem with any ladder pages until after this patch. Now, after every ladder match, it says I am rank 100 in my division. Weird.

I think Blizzard did something smart here. Half the people were complaining that the promotion system wasn't working. Blizzard couldn't find the cause of the issue... so they released a patch that broke the other half. BRILLIANT!
I get the same weird Rank 100 screen after games now as well and I didn't get that prior to patch. Looks like we're in for at least another round of updates before this one is hammered out.

I wish they would fix the "Input limit Reached" thing, this doesn't seem like a big deal for a patch, IMO could have been included in 1.4, unless they don't plan on releasing it for month+

You're being silly. This is a bug fix and doesn't require PTR or discussion. It will be released on the other servers within the day, and it's already out on SEA and NA.

I just updated to 1.3.4 and decided to play 4v4. I'm rank #3 in Silver in my division. I just played and won a game, gaining 26 points, and it showed that I'm rank #100 Silver. WTF!?!? When I exit out of the scores screen it returns to normal and I'm rank #3 again. Weird.

I think that it's likely there are hidden changes in this patch. The ladder issue is something Blizzard changed without patching, using a lock on their end. I highly doubt to fix the promotion bug a patch is required.

The ladder is getting really weird now, I'm in diamond and versing gold and silvers who I'm smashing easily. I thought Blizz said the hidden matchmaking values would still be working but it doesn't seem so for me.

I dont know I still cant see Grandmasters and some other leagues now everytime I exit a game win or lose it says im Division rank 100 as well. I saw other people having this problem so its not just you guys :/ I'm sure Blizzard is on everything if we have to wait another week then so be it. Hopefully not tho.

If 1.3.4 is online on ALL servers there will be a hotfix. AFTER that it should be all fine....

Like someone said in EU we're not getting patched yet, anyway I guess the hotfix for fixing the promotion issue will be applied once there is the 1.3.4 in all regions.
I hope so, because for example now even the 1v1 multiplayer screen of Grandmaster players gets bugged sometimes (happened to IdrA in his stream a few hours ago).

Every game lasted less than 10 mins before sc2 crashed.
Has not happened on 1.3.2 or 1.3.3

It appears that when a map is "featured" it loses it's category tag (melee, Co-Op vs. AI, Custom, etc) and is no longer visible in the By Category tab for it's old category. • The score screen is showing Rank 100 regardless of your actual rank in your league.

Grandmaster league has only caused torubles since it came out. I don't get how they screwed up ladder when it had been working for almost 1 year fine. Still its not that important because you still get matched with even opponents.

dude, this patch did not even work. mine is still not showing up right. and every time i win a game it shows me as rank 100 when im rank 7. not a big deal because its just a glich but is annoying

Hmm, just logged on and tried to play, but all I can play is 2v2 and ffa. The other options is not there any more for some reason

Same thing for me on EU, Wolf. And when 1v1 DOES pop up, I get an error popup that says "SC2MASTER_UNKNOWN_MMQ_HANDLE" when I try to queue up a game.

Hope they fixed random crash as well. Yesterday while playing, doing nothing too much on my pc, it crashed. Strange, especially since i rendered and played at the same time without crashing.

Has anyone else gotten this since the patch? If so did it resolve itself on restart for you as well?

Im not sure if you use windowmode or not (i do) but i get it sometimes and i just alt tab to desktop and back into the the game and the problem is solved.

I use windowed fullscreen TuFFeR and I did try that out assuming it would somehow "shake out" the problem but it persisted and I had to click out of the game and close the client, then restart, I've never seen this before this patch hit as phaib pointed out he had it pre-patch but I personally did not. Very strange bug and I hope they know about this one already, one time it happend (EU) I was in a 4v4 and had to leave the game basically right after it started and I assume my team lost from losing me.

I cannot update the last patch at all....when i click the SC2 icon the window for updating the patch pops up then immediately disappears.I tried like 2-3 times but still not working.

"We found out that the reason the leagues and ladders page was not loading correctly was that too many players were reading and writing to this database at the same time, causing the server to get overloaded when trying to display the leagues and ladders page. In order to resolve this issue we have made the database read only, in order to do this we had to disallow players to play games so that the database would no longer be updated. It keeps coming up and going down, keep an eye out and you can sneak in a 1v1 now and then but for the most part its up the creek.

Well nothings working so far. I managed to get into 1v1 searchmode but got booted out with the error "SC2Master_MMQhandle_unknown" or something like this.

According to a blue post posted at around 14.30 CET they have found the source of the problem. Let's assume it's not a super serious issue (which I assume partially because I have played 2 games when it suddenly was up and running), it should be fixed in 1 or 2 hours max I'd say ^_^

On LA server when I got into a game it wouldn't let me hit enter to chat with my buddy who I was playing so I logged off and got back into another game and it did the same thing and then it lagged like crazy and i restarted my comp that time and now I tried again to play and it basically made it seem like my keyboard was broke or something, like it was fine for a sec and then all of a sudden all I could use was my mouse just like on EU server it happened right after patch (put it in previous post in this thread and has happened to others).
EU and LA server seem totally screwed but when I log into NA its fine and all is well so idk maybe if you have multiple servers something with the patch crossed or something and tweaked files I have no idea, anyone else been getting this on LA (rare since not many ppl from TL play on LA but still worth a shot mentioning). I'm amazed at how bad this patch has gone but hey what can you do, well I know what I'm doing, playing some BW and going to bed!

Been impossible to play all day for EU. Promotion is still not fixed either.
The only blue post was this morning where they said "Just wait 5-10 minutes and try again "
Also the promotion lock should have comed with 1.3.4 which a blue also confirmed. But it didnt .........

Situation Report: Patch 1.3.4
- Fixed a bug that would cause some Leagues & Ladder pages not to show correctly.
After receiving and reviewing a lot of solid feedback about the ladder system from the StarCraft II community, we came to the agreement the ladder was not as broken as players made it out to be. We believe that the customer is always right. Hence, we have decided to listen to the players and made our servers barely playable and the ladder really messed up.
We hope these changes will resolve the dispute in the forums over whether the ladder is broken or not. Now everyone will be able to unanimously agreed on the state of the server.

I had a 3vs3 where at the loading screen my team had 3 people, and the other team only 2 people. And it was indeed a 3vs2, quite funny. I can provide the replay if anyone is interested by this bug.

The loading was really funny too, we did not have the left side with Team 1 and the right side with Team 2, but it was all the players in one list.
