1 week ago i played my firth 2v2 random this season, last season i was diamond. Got master. Next game i played a 3v3 random (i had already played some 3v3 season 2) and got promotet 2 master. That felt pretty nice.

I had been rank 1 Platinum for about a month (started in gold), and had long streak of winning 5-6, then losing 5-6.

I was at my wits end, trying to figure out what I could do. As a random player, I've been told there is a hard-wall at some point in your laddering that is nearly impossible to overcome unless you settle on a race. I REFUSED that as an answer and really focused during laddering this weekend.

I had won 8 games in a row all against top 10 diamond players and about to pull my hair out. I knew the ladder would detect my win streak and put me against people who would crush my face but I decided to keep going.

One last match...a long drag-out ZvZ where I went roach/hydra against ling/bling/muta (burrowed banelings almost costing me the game when the took out all my hydras). I stayed focused and didn't let anything suprise me. After his 'GG', WHAM!! Promoted to diamond!

Hang in there my 'random' amigos! You can go as far as you want!

was in silver, but didn't play (after playing one placement game in start of S2 from bronze -> silver) then decided to ladder+stream it

Lost one game (ZvP where I underdroned......)
Won the next game (ZvZ where the other guy 10pooled...but waited till he had a very large speedling force, which I killed with banelings, then went for lair.....for hydras, and essentially all-in'd with lings, hydras, and drones....all of which are light units

Then immediately went from silver -> gold....

played from broze to gold as zerg, when i was about to get promoted to plat i raged hard everytime i lost to protoss, this was two or three months ago when p was considered "Op". I was like fuck this and qued as p one game, got a pvp, won and got promoted :I

My league's:
1v1: Plat
2v2/3v3/4v4: diamond

Team up with my friend who's played less than me at a lan cafe, we both play P. Played 5 placement matches, completely roflstomped each game, be it 4 gate rushes, 3 gate expand, just walked over anyone we met. Usually you'd get promoted into diamond or platinum, but we got put into masters straight away!

I played my first placement matches a while ago, and don't play online that much at all so... yeah, but I went like 4-1 in placement and got Gold, then went like 3-2 in Gold over a month or two. Then 1.3 or whatever patch with infestor buff came out and I played my 1 placement match, lost it, and got platinum, while the other guy stayed in Gold. ROFL!!

I have a weird pattern xD

Lost all 5 placement matches, bottom of bronze. Clawed my way to rank 1 after a while and then sat there for a whole month with a ridiculous win ratio (something like 80%) against silver players and something like 99% against bronze, with the occasional cheese taking me out. And then I entered another game, send my drones to mine, and 4 seconds later win because my opponent disconnects. PROMOTED TO SILVER, BITCH.

Silver: I had been in bronze for ages, I was silver material a month back. Shot up to rank 1 in a week and got my gold promotion in only a few days more.

Gold: Wow, not really ready for this! Lost 8 games in a row and nearly got demoted, but just like bronze I climbed my way to the top again! Took me another couple months, and overlapped with the season 2 ladder lock. FINALLY a promotion after two weeks at the top of gold.

Platinum: Gold for far too long. I celebrated my long time coming promotion with a 10 game winning streak, comfortably depositing me at the top of my platinum division.

Now I'm verging on a diamond promotion. Any day now ^-^

Anyway, the pattern is: I'm not ready, spend way too long in that league, very late promotion, shoot to the top, quick promotion, repeat xD

Placed Gold and ranked up to Platinum pretty quickly. But finally reaching Diamond was a huge sigh of relief, took me a couple months, but I got there.

Bought the game and went straight to ladder without watching vids or playing campaign at all. Played Zerg, didn't know about Queens and their inject so I was just playing by massing hatches and getting units that way.

That got me in Platinum, then when I found out bout Queens went straight to Diamond. Then when Master league came out got placed in about 10 games. Fun times.

Im still waiting for it, i went from bronze to diamond in about 3 months with no previous RTS experience.

Now im very stuck in diamond and the promotion to master league will definetly be the one that makes me break something in joy.

Allthough the promotion to silver felt special to me, after that i got promoted every 4-5 days until i hit plat, there i stayed for 2~ weeks until i hit diamond.

I guess the story I would have to share is getting into Masters 4v4 Random as a solo player, I am not sure if you guys know but many people play as 3s in 4s random but I did it alone and it took be a good 150ish games to do so and that was the hardest masters league for me to get into. I think I had to go 100-20 my last 120 games before I was placed into 4s random masters and this was when masters was just starting and more or less prestigious. I was pretty damn happy, took me 2 weeks to get to Masters 4s random.

Now I got into Diamond 1v1 basically after beating the 25th ranked player (at the time) in SEA server (back when they had the top 200 lists weekly). Have not played many 1v1's I get ladder anxiety for 1s... hopefully i'll get past it and get into Masters and maybe Grand Masters

(if I can play enough to pull bonus pool down). I'll repost once that happens. Currently 7-2 in Season 2 haha.. yup;... only played 9 1v1s so far.

I had been practicing ladder for a month of SC2 release as Protoss. Trying hard to learn the game and get better, but not with a specific goal. After a few weeks in school, I ran into a flier about a SC2 meeting and got really excited. When I got there, I found half the players there were in diamond which made me feel so bad for being only in platinum. I wanted to badly to be part of the group in a competitive way, but this was my first RTS.

Over the next 2 weeks, I practiced hard on the ladder, refusing to take the easy route of 4 gate, only cheesing in PvP (didn't think fast 2 gate was cheesing at the time). One day, I went up against this Protoss on Lost Temple. Close spawns, and I scout a fast forge. I recognize immediately he is going to cannon rush me, so I stop probe production, wall off my ramp, and hide my scout probe around his base. He gets there to cannon me and realizes he has to set up at the bottom of the ramp. I quickly throw up a forge and place a protective cannon and a proxy pylon for the counter cannon rush. Game goes on for a bit with me obviously ahead and eventually winning. After the game, it pops up that I have been promoted to diamond! Such a glorious and happy day!

Got promoted on my shared account yesterday
Me and my friend play on them with offraces and started a week ago. After 87 games I got promoted from Diamond to Master.
Shot up from 300 rating to 1100 in 3 days and then after going evenly against 1100 masters I got promoted.

Heh mine is so uninteresting...

Started playing like 2-ish weeks ago even though I bought the game on release (I followed the scene I just never played for some reason). Decided to play terran, did my placements (Only won the first and third and lost the rest) so I got put in Silver... And like a few minutes ago, 65 wins and 35(ish) losses later I get promoted to gold haha. All the wins were pretty standard nothing cheesy and nothing lame like DCs.
