When I saw the number of viewers on the the TSL last weekend and the HQ thread held solid I was impressed. JustinTV needs to be ready for the same if not more particularly when streaming VODs and the NASL staff needs to make sure they make it a priority. Its really hard to estimate I would think because the nay-sayers and negative-nancies are usually the most vocal division of any given community on a given subject. So while people may post lack of interest or something like that on the topic of the NASL, it could in reality be a massive collection of viewers/subscribers that could show up last minute. I expect technical difficulties early on as they adjust to the actual numbers. Perhaps some pre-season specials or something in order to test the viewer count waters and ball park the capacity before the main show goes live?

I think he has shown that plenty of times. That is all he really needs to cast. How entertaining someone is varies greatly between different people, just because you find him entertaining doesn't mean everyone does. I think everyone that doesn't like his casting knows that a lot of people do find him entertaining, and know why he was chosen to do the casting, but that doesn't mean they enjoy his casting.

Hell, I've waited 12 hours for a doctor one time. Eat it, if you think a few minutes (spread out between entertainment, nonetheless) is too much for you. -I can't be the price alone ($25 for that much content? Pretty damn worth it, imo) -"Minimal Commercial Interruption"? If it interferes with the games directly, I agree that this is pretty bad. But, if they don't (which seems much more likely), I see absolutely no large issue. (Seriously? It's not competitive/professional to have commercials? Have you ever watched a sporting event -_- )

Perhaps some pre-season specials or something in order to test the viewer count waters and ball park the capacity before the main show goes live? I can't say I disagree with this but they do have some metrics to use to gauge the number of potential viewers. TSL's stream hit somewhere in the ballpark of 40,000 last weekend if I'm not mistaken at one point. Being cast at a good time for both Europe and NA, you could derive from that that the stream should be capable of supporting at least that number depending what times the stream will go live. I think your idea with respect to pre-season special, or something specific for Season 1, would be a good idea so they can get a feel for what to expect, prepare for it accordingly, work through any technical difficulties and be solid for Season 2. Issues are bound to happen even with huge amounts of planning but at least they have some examples to work from ![]() All in all, I'm considering supporting it with the $25 fee because I have a hard time telling myself why I shouldn't spend it when I enjoy watching SC2 casts (GSL, TSL, etc), pay for GSL already and am interested in what NASL has to offer ![]() ![]()

Especially since I already buy a GSL pass every season, spending ~$20 a month on SC2 seems a bit unreasonable. I hope that NASL kind find its own sponsorship model, but thankfully the live video isn't airing on Korean time so I'll catch matches anyways ![]()

When he is gone, I will shell out my money just as I have for every single season of the GSL.

I know they won't, but they could give us terrible production and everything, but according to many, we should give them money anyways or we are hurting e-sports.

How bout you go shell out your money for wow then k?[/QUOTE] Well, I think a lot of people DO already shell out money for the community (GSL) and don't feel that they should be obligated to pay such a high price for a new league with no proven success or quality right off the bat Also, shelling out money isn't the only way to support the community; tuning in and spreading the word is a big part also. So far TSL3 is the best tournament I've seen outside of GSL, and it was... totally free for users, with VODs up within 24 hours after the live casts. They use JTV also. I sympathize that GSL isn't in the US so we should support NASL, but $25 for 3 months is akin to what Netflix charges... that's a significant amount of money for a very, very limited service. I disagree with their model: if you want your tiny (but growing) sport to become mainstream, throwing up a paywall doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Not willing to throw my money behind this league yet based on big promises (1080p stream, when GSL and MLG struggle to offer 480p without issues, not hopeful), and especially given everything we've seen so far hasn't really instilled me with confidence (the quality of the show match, the poor handling of the NASL launch, still no info on when the league actually starts). I hope NASL succeeds, but at this point I am very cautious, sure $25 isn't a lot of money, but if it turns out anything like MLG has, it'll be $25 for absolutely nothing. Yes, NASL is cheap/same compared to GSL, but if they can't deliver, then you can't use that justification at all. If the first couple of days go well, I will happily pay the full price then. Not going to jump in blind to save $5, sorry.

How bout you go shell out your money for wow then k? Well at least with wow i know i get my value out of it. Do i know the same here? no i don't. Why is it so hard to understand that people wanna check something out first before they buy it? The NASL is business the same GOM (isn't gom free for the koreans btw?) is, and if they want me to convince to put money on the table for them, they better proof its worth it. This got nothing to do with "esport to become bigger in the west" so stop trying to fling that claim to people who don't wanna buy it imediately.
