Way too expensive for this. Companies rarely deliver what they promise anyway.

Its probably going to be ok, but I mean its true the website is crap, the 'preview' video is awful also. Now if we could get some news from the people behind this thing to instill a little bit of confidence then things might change a bit.

I'll pay if the streaming and quality is good, but after seeing MLG Dallas I'll just sit and wait.

No need to shell out money for a terrible outcome. In fact I pay for GSL just because it comes on so early in the morning.

Dude, these are the TOP players. Other than some from Korea missing and Jinro and Huk, the NASL player list is basically the best of the best.

What makes you think it's unorganized

They got 95% of invites correct, just a few bad ones. Also why pre-buy, just see how it turns out and buy if you want. I think it should be pretty good having regular games, it just remains to be seen how legit it feels.

The only hesitation I have is possible maphackers... but that's far more risky than stream listening etc.

Its not about the invites.
its about the organisatin of this whole thing.
We still don't know WHEN it is we only know AROUND when it is and that comes from a 2hour+ podcast.
the only thing we know is the groups, but not the format, the schedue and so forth.
in that regard the whole thing is a mess.
that is ppl their point.

Just preordered my season 1 pass. For $20 I think its worth it, and if the quality isn't to my liking I simply won't order a pass for season 2.

As for the complaints, everybody seems to want something for nothing these days.

lol this is seriously a hilarious statement you make there.
So you buy something that you don't know the quality about?
i think you got no value of money if you really think like that.
Who said anything about wanting everything for free?

The point is, we don't know what the quality of the tournament will be and the organsation of this tournament is serverely lacking imo.
We just heard through 2hour+ podcast that it will be starting AROUND the second week of april.
Why is this not pressed into our face atleast 3weeks/a month ago?
Where is the schedue?
On the top of that the show match that was supposed to introduce the whole NASL was streaming wise a flop.
"but assirra, it was just a test"
Guess what, if they actually want as big scale as they are claiming they should have test this beforehand and the show match should have been a general rehersal to see if there are minor bugs.

So far they have yet to proof that i get quality for my money and i don't mean just games.
I can always look up xVSx on youtube or go to replay sites.
They want to have a WORLD SCALE TOURNAMENT, they need their shit together.

Yes, I'm willing to spend a measly $20 to check this out. Since I go to work and school full time I will miss most of the live streams and will have to watch the VODs. I fully understand that I may end up unhappy with the quality and decide to not continue to subscribe in the future. I accept that risk.

There were a number of comments on this thread saying VODs should be free. I was just saying it's a bit silly to expect something like that for nothing.

NASL doesnt stream well in my timezone so some of the live magic is lost. Going to have to see if the games and stream are really good before I would buy a pass. I don't buy gom passes cos their HQ stream is so bad and I do not watch vods. I will be watching NASL closely before I make a decision. Its only 5 more dollars which is pretty much an energy drink in the city.

The people complaining about both having to pay and having to view a few commercials clearly don't understand how sponsorship works. The cost of paying for a season pass is to cover the cost of providing HQ streaming service (probably the highest in the whole scene, from the sounds of it). They still need corporate sponsors in order to put up prize money and cover most of the costs of running the tournament. How the hell do you think they'd ever get sponsorship without some form of advertising?

Yes, buying it to support E-Sports in general and the global sc2 scene.

Does anyone know the company that is running NASL? Or is it a private venture?

Same here - I pay for the GSL (but hell no am I paying for MLG given their record and today's event). Could the NASL be worse? Of course but damn't they're trying and I think it's worth the investment. If it's terrible like MLG today, hopefully they offer a refund like MLG did.

Haters gonna hate I guess...

if its not for sponsors we would have no NASL... you pay way more for cable and watch a ton of commercials....

you need to see commercials as a good thing for esports.. IMO the more the better so to speak! ;D

People saying this kind of thing just baffles me.
There is an amazing lineup of EU/NA players, along with a lot of the TOP Korean players from GSL.
No idea how anyone could say this is a weak lineup.

Agreed, i really dont mind commercials and I dont understand why people complain about it. NASL is already providing the free stream and only charging for people wanting to see higher quality or vods. When you go to a cinema to watch a movie don't you see a ton of commercials even tough you paid that much for 2-3 hours? This is the same but the commercials only support e-sports, which every TL poster should be happy about.

I already bought it because i think it is already worth it despite the unknowns about the event.

I would like to change my vote to yes, on the condition the production quality is equal to or better than GOM.

GOM provided the road map to success. Now NASL has 0 excuses. Make sure it's right, and I will gladly fork over $25 for 3 months.

You need to be realistic especially in the esports world, a lot of the sponsors sponsor to get their name out their in advertisements. You see commercials on TV all the time, If you won't shell out 25$ for 3 months of content every single night 5 days a week, then you sir are not the kind of person we need in this community. People should support esports, especially western sc2 esports and be realistic about how the world works, without sponsors obviously this would be nothing.

If GOMhas provided the road map to success, MLG has provided the roadmap to complete chaos and failure in the first two days of this Dallas event. There's almost no way the NASL won't learn from the mistakes these guys are making.

NASL is very different from MLG. MLG is a weekend event at a "LAN." NASL is a three-month online (except for the very end) event where every game will be cast.

Pre-Ordering something that has no starting date seems ridiculously risky
The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.
