I don't know why people seem surprised they didn't put in GSL maps. There's been no indication at all that they would, and they're very different from standard ladder maps. I really don't think blizzard is going to put half-bases or neutral supply depots in ladder maps any time soon. They're great for pros, but most people don't have map-specific build orders for every map.

New maps!!!!! I was really really hoping DQ would be gone, maybe they'll change it so you can only spawn cross as a compromise? The natural is still SOOOOOOOOO wide that even <insert sexual joke here>.
I always try to shield slam face, just to make sure it doesnt work

I've just spent about 5-10 minutes laughing because of backwater gulch.

On it...
Zerg can't hold vs 2 rax (so much room to drop bunkers to split main and natural apart)
Zerg can't hold vs hellion harass/hellion marauder push (just try to get some sort of hellion defense up at both the main and nat).
Zerg can't win if Terran takes their gold with a PF (cuts off all attack routes and gives a gold to Terran)
Zerg can't take the gold ever really (gold can be sieged from xel'naga or colossied from xel'naga)

i have a feeling that after one or two games i'll be using my veto on slag pits. i really can't understand why they would take out shakuras, i know they want to rotate it all but it hasn't even been in the map pool the whole time. i am quite optimistic about backwater gulch though. i understand why the cliffs got removed from LT but why have they changed the island? i don't think i've ever heard anyone complain about the island once!

hoever i am just bloody happy that i will never play on steppes of war or blistering sands again (when the new maps come on EU)

Wait, they removed Shakuras again but Delta Quadrant is still in? Oh, boy...

Also, I don't know how I feel about them changing Lost Temple. I really loved the map, it had a classic feel to it. I have not played on the new Shattered Temple yet, perhaps I will like it more. Very glad to see these changes, overall, despite some questionable decisions.

There are also 'new' Free For All maps for anyone who cares

"Slag Pits" and
"The Shattered Temple"

They are just 1v1 maps put in the FFA section though.

Yay Slag Pits....say goodbye to taking a 3rd base Zerg players. Other than that, these maps are better than the old ones without a doubt. But Slag Pits is seriously awful...


Close positions? g.g.

Viable 3rd base? Nope.

Zerg tears? Plenty.

I don't understand why they removed some of the best maps which created some of the best and most interesting games and threw in these random maps that were only played a handful of times into the map pool. Sure, Shakuras plateau had some problems with the spawn locations idea and LT had cliff problems, why not fix them like they do in BW? instead they just remove and a new maps which create new problems.
