And 1 rax CC is only viable if you can 3 rax wall your nat or baneling bust gets you every time. Removing Shakuras might be the single most mindboggling decision ever made in this games history.

•The choke point by the natural expansions were too small; it was possible to block them off easily using only a few buildings. THAT IS NOT A BAD THING. God, I cant take this.

It's so obscenely strange, GSL puts all these awesome macro maps in their pool and what do we get? Long, exciting games where 1 or 2 base all-ins are usually just not possible. Reaction from fans (and Tastosis)? Love it. Really provides entertaining games. Blizzards reaction to all this? Let's take out one of if not the best map in our ladder pool (that has had some of the most epic games in GSL history mind you) and put in a bunch of maps that greatly encourage 1 base play. Good luck securing an expansion without a migraine in most of them. Definitely the worst thing to happen to this game yet.

Temple is decent, haven't played enough on it to really comment on how much the wider natural choke is going to affect it, but at least you can simcity your natural from your ramp. Unlike most of these maps.

1.The maps have lots of weird geometry, making proxies even easier to hide. The advanced proxy gateway is extremely effective on alot of the new maps because there are so many places to hide the gateways. I've done it to 3 players today, telling them beforehand, that i would do some sort of proxy. All of them were unable to find the gateways. (These matches were played from the new maps). This could be simply because people don't quiet understand the maps yet, but I've been seeing a huge rush of cheese strategies in today's matches. 2. Close positions on slag pit is stupid...plain and simple. It's worst than steppes of war. 3. Shakuras Plateau was a cool map. I don't care if it was ''boring'', atleast it had aspects to it that made it very balanced and promoted long macro games. 4. Shattered Temple is nice, it'll take some time getting used to though. 5.I still prefer x'el naga caverns/metalopolis (non-close positions atleast)/delta quadrant over the new maps...

Just quoting this again as there hasn't been much reaction Blizzard says the company plans to add "a couple more new maps to the official ladder rotation in the coming weeks, including a user-made 1v1 map that is currently being featured in the Global StarCraft League (GSL)."

Though im kinda bugged that they said 'shakuras plateau is a plain macro map and we find it uninteresting'. WHAT? Seriously, have these guys seen GSL? Epic games ALWAYS happens on shakuras

Blistering: We wanted to reduce the number of rush maps in general, and Blistering Sands was one of them. except you kept in Delta Quadrant. fuck you Blizzard. Jungle Basin has a few traits that make it extremely favorable for Terran, so we decided to remove it from the ladder. except you kept in Delta Quadrant. fuck you Blizzard. Again, we wanted to reduce the number of rush maps, and Steppes was the most rush-friendly rush map we decided to cut. guess the only reason why they chose to keep in Delta Quadrant was because it was 4 player instead of 2 player. Lost Temple: If one side controls one of the center watch towers, there's no alternate ground-based route to half of the map, meaning it's too easy for the game to become a stalemate with each side taking half of the map. god forbid splitting up the map results in a bad game to be played Shakuras: For a change, we wanted to replace this relatively plain map with something new. fuck you Blizzard Backwater: Early game play on this map should feel familiar and there probably aren't too many early game threats or difficulties in terms of gimmicky strategies you need to worry about. I'm getting trolled by Blizzard because breakable rocks to attack nat or get into main obviously isn't gimmicky. Slag: Metalopolis was one of two favorite maps across the different skill levels of players. We decided to introduce a very similar map, but slightly more macro heavy. still getting trolled by Blizzard
