I watched some of her casting today and this interview of course... I really don't get what people are raging so much about. She seems like a nice person, an good caster (by these days' standards), and her accent is only somewhat of a problem when she tries to spit out too many words at the same time. What I would like to see from both tasteless and kelly is (I've notice this since the very beginning with tasteless mostly) is showing some character. Everybody fucking loved tasteless in his gom classic casting because everything he said came out so naturally and was joking around when he felt like it. You could really hear the passion in his voice. Now it almost seem like there's a guy ready to slap the gom casters if they say something wrong. Of course, I don't know the actual situation, but to me it seems like either the passion isn't really there anymore or the gom guys are making the casters "too professional". This is of course just my opinion, but I thought I'd add a bit to this discussion just coz I think there's too much hate out there.
I don`t see her accent becoming too big of an issue. We all watch german casters all the time and they have their own unique accent as well, and may I say, worse than this in many cases. Hell, I have even watched NAAMA cast, which was...a unique experience. I have seen Tarson and Dimaga casting and obviously they have a tad more knowledge about the game than her, but their accents are horrible.
I think we will get used to it and it will come down to her actual casting-abilities, which I approve.

I'm still not comfortable listening to her or watching her. The enunciation is still the big kick in the teeth for me, an accent is one thing such as rotterdam's, but Kelly has an entirely different problem that can't even be related to Rotterdam. I also felt pretty uncomfortable when the touching of tasteless' shoulder started happening, I really want to like Kelly and her casting, i'm just finding it very hard to do so.
If people can't even understand a semi-heavy accent with live pictures to boot, then they just need to step the fuck up instead of complaining. If you've spent years of your life being taught the english langauge, and still fail to understand it when spoken by anyone outside of your little local area then you just suck at the language.
I can completely relate to people saying her voice isn't the best for shoutcasting in general, but that's the least of the problems. She made some analytical mistakes you really want to avoid when trying for proffessional casting, and the chemistry between her and tasteless is kinda awkward still, although fully expected.
i can understand tasteless and artosis easily even when distracted, but when she says something i have to fill the gap by thinking about it
1) she switches between the players, example: "he should make roaches and he should get and observer, because if he does not, the banshee will kill many workers." this gets especially difficult if it is a mirrormatchup and usually both competitors are male...
2) she cuts some words short or pronounces it in a way that i am not familiar with, especially when many nonenglish speakers watch, it has to be the best english possible
(there are accents in germany i cannot understand though it is supposed to be my language!)
I think 1) will come naturally when she learns from tastosis, and 2), well, i guess i have to get used to this way of speaking, so it is shared work for greater joy ^.<
I think it got better with every game to be honest. There were a few blunders, but its not like she doesn´t know anything about that game (instant criticism of not walling of the "secret hallway" on XNC as one example, there were quite a few things she got really fast and commented correctly and good on it). And as she began to be less nervous, i really started to feel ok with listening to it. And she seems dedicated enough that she will surely improve quite some in the future, so I´m pretty optimistic. Regarding the native speaker problem : I had no problem at all understanding her (i think my english is pretty decent though, except for the occasional huge grammar blunders and not knowing enough words to say what I want to most of the time ).
The one "nice thing" about the english language in my opinion is that it is rather "simple" and easy to understand, almost no matter what dialect the people have, as long as they don´t speak TO FAST, and you could see that she really tried to slow down compared to VODs that were posted in the last few days.
Considering I am sure a lot of casters applied for the position... and were overlooked. There was probably a reason they were overlooked. so deal with the accent (which could be worse) for atleast one gsl... If shes so bad shell be canned. You guys make it sound like she's the bane of E-Sports cause you all love female casters from other countries
Well, I am from Czech rep. so I am by no means native English speaker but I can understand her very well imho. However, she pronounciates (is that right word?) Zealots etc. strangely and she switches between players as stated above and this should be improved.
Special note for Tasteless: please dont say Collossussess :/ Collosi is the right word. Otherwise you are awesome
Her terminology for units and structures is similar to a 10 year old who has never talked to another person about the game before. She talks way faster than is needed and switches what she is talking about in mid sentence. She also wastes time announcing things like overload speed finishing which if you are even looking at the screen you'll see right away.
Her diction is something I would expect to hear on some no name 200 viewer tournament not the GSL...
I truthfully hope she gets better because I can't tell my friends to watch matches commentated like this.
