I think it's also safe to say that Spades has matured since then and deserves some credit for that. It's up to the individuals of the community to forgive, some will and some won't, and I'm sure each has their own reasons, but in the here and now I think Spades has shown he's a legitimate player that has a shot at making something happen in the Korean scene -- if not but improving his play personally.

git over yourselves. It's like complaining that a professional baseball player once cheated in little league. Different game, different time, different age. He's obviously not going to the GSL to cheat.

Wow, you get to call someone a retard and then ban them for saying "get over yourself"? That's not showing good integrity on the behalf of TL at all, if you don't mind me saying. When does the actual qualifier-matches start? Does anybody know?

To be completely honest I remember 100% when all of this went down, and yea it has been a good bit since this event, so should he be given a 2nd chance in SC2? I think undoubtedly. We all made mistakes when we were younger ( and a lot of us did it while we were on BW ). The only thing I question is VT's choice of sending Spades instead of one of they're other players, no offense to VT or Spades, but I think VT has a lot more talent on it then Spades ( No offense really ). In my opinion I think players like Whiplash, Zerker ( Even though I think he is not in VT anymore, but when he was ) , GoddeR, and JiYan would be more qualified to go to korea to practice, gain momentum, and get better to try and become a pro player, why would I choose these players over spades? Because I have played people from VT several times and IMO when I played vs them , they were much more of a challenge then spades was, but people change and so do they're skills. So we will see. Good Luck VT and Spades regardless, we wish you the best of luck.

Beyond that there's always wild speculations on either end of the spectrum. Spades tried to make a comeback in Brood War, playing at offline events and such, but was not well-received. Since he's overhauled his manners and dedicated a ton of time to improving and streaming SC2, and is now (and rightfully so) heading to Korea to try out for Code A, some people have forgiven his past transgressions and some people haven't. It isn't much more complicated than that, there are legitimate reasons for each individual's opinions I'm sure. Ah, thanks for the information. I also think that people can change and be forgiven. However, I'll just be following his progress in Korea rather than cheering for him at this point. Maphacking in starcraft tournaments, especially with money involved is not something that should just be glossed over. Whether or not Spades is a good player is irrelevant. I also don't know much about this guy right now and I don't want to start cheering for someone just because he is a foreigner. I would hate to see Koreans looking down on and rooting against foreigners solely based on their nationalities, and for the same reason, I really dislike the "us vs. those damn Koreans" attitude I see so much of in here. Perhaps he will eventually win me and many other people over as fans if he continues to show that he has changed and display good performances in Korea.
