I hope he makes the most of this opportunity to live without any regrets since his time window is limited.
I will not be cheering for him to advance in the qualifiers, but I wont wish him ill either; cheating is serious business, but it's not my tournament to deny him entrance into.
btw this is my second chance attitude and is as positive as I forsee being unless he decides to promise any earnings to cancer research or something.

GL Spades, practice hard! It'll be hard but I believe you can make code A
|
Lol guys don't pick a fight with FakeSteve. You will not win; trust me.
|
I don't think a lot of people realize how tough it's going to be to qualify for code A. It's not going to be as easy as qualifying for a GSL in the past. The competition will be a lot thicker I think. Everyone and their dog is going to be competing for what, 16 slots?

Beyond that there's always wild speculations on either end of the spectrum. Spades tried to make a comeback in Brood War, playing at offline events and such, but was not well-received. Since he's overhauled his manners and dedicated a ton of time to improving and streaming SC2, and is now (and rightfully so) heading to Korea to try out for Code A, some people have forgiven his past transgressions and some people haven't. It isn't much more complicated than that, there are legitimate reasons for each individual's opinions I'm sure.
I'm ok with the forgiving and all, but don't downplay what he did cause you're friends now. He got caught with the flag method for hacking in almost all his games, denied everything even though it was 100% confirmed.
A couple of months later he got caught again in the next wave. No public apology or anything. It was painfully obvious in the interview that he didn't want to mention it in the interview when Artosis asked him about his past.
I don't believe he hacks in SC2, but I personally won't be rooting for him at all.

I was wondering why his stream wasnt up recently. GL spades

Holy shit, john candy is going to korea.
Good luck spades

Enjoy his stream a lot. Spades is a very solid terran. If he have time to adjust to the Korean ladder, he can definitely make it.

Thank you everyone who is supporting, as well as those criticizing me. I dont want to let my fans down, and i want to prove the haters wrong, so my motivation is about as high as it gets.
I know i made bad decisions in the past, but I'm doing my best to atleast make up for it to an extent. I know It will follow me forever, but i want to make sure my successes greatly outweigh my downfalls. If i could take it all back i would, but i cant turn back time, so i will just make sure my future exceeds everyones expectations and hopefully earn some of the skeptics' respect.
I'm training hard, and hope to make you guys proud.
Thanks again for the support!

more foreigners the better. past grudges and decisions aside I hope he has success in korea and motivates more players to go for the gold. With some of the Code A play we've seen thus far I see no reason he can't make it excluding an incredibly difficult RNG bracket.

Ehh I have watched his stream i'm don't think he has the greatest chances but regardless GL; I didn't know the specifics about his past but i did know he had a bad history hopefully he will represent vT good, so this is not what them sending their first player is known for
Edit: Torch is ST? now correct

Who cares? Those judging him on the past should truely get over themselves. He is a good player without hacks, has proven that, so seriously, stop it. spades is a homie but this sort of post is obnoxiously stupid. a whole bunch of people don't think there's a wipe clean of the slate just because it's a new game. if your answer to that is "those people need to get over themselves", then you're a complete retard and I don't want you participating in discussions here. if you're gonna have an opinion, you'd better be willing to back it up better than that, or you shouldn't post. Wow rage much? I own an e-Sports team. Hacking is hacking yes. But the guy is good end of story. I don't support hacking, or hackers. But theres a whole lot of comments about it where people clearly need to get over themselves.. Yours included. By the way, I can lick my elbows and I can kick myself in the back of my head.. I guess I must be retarded. Now, GET OVER YOURSELF. User was temp banned for this post. oh really. well, maybe when you "get over" your ban, you'll have a clearer picture of what sort of attitudes we don't appreciate on teamliquid. Wow, you get to call someone a retard and then ban them for saying "get over yourself"? That's not showing good integrity on the behalf of TL at all, if you don't mind me saying. When does the actual qualifier-matches start? Does anybody know? I'm pretty sure the ban wasn't just 'cause he said "---" It's mostly 'cause the guy was an idiot and was mouthing off like an arrogant douche starting from his first post in that convo.
On topic, I personally won't exactly start cheering straight up for him just yet, but I'm more than willing to give the guy a second chance and let him prove himself to us. He seems like a much better guy and willing to admit for his mistakes. That last part is something a lot of people can't/won't do and that should be noticed at the very least.
Good luck to Spades in Korea and here's to hoping he'll show us some good games.
