Whilst I have to applaud VT on the courage to invest money in getting their players experience in Korea, all this article does is make me wonder why we aren't seeing ROOT, Fnatic, Mouz, and others, sending a player over, as they surely have more talented players than VT and should be showing confidence in their abilities by getting them to the highest level to see how they stand. The only team so far that has made a real commitment is Liquid, and maybe EG.

LOL, that is money right there.

Spades has shown that he is committed to SC2 and wants to dedicate himself to accomplishing great things in this game; his past is irrelevant if you look at the way he is behaving currently.

It is always good to see foreigners trying to make it in the Korean scene. UCF and Spades FIGHTING!

spades is a homie but this sort of post is obnoxiously stupid. a whole bunch of people don't think there's a wipe clean of the slate just because it's a new game. if your answer to that is "those people need to get over themselves", then you're a complete retard and I don't want you participating in discussions here. if you're gonna have an opinion, you'd better be willing to back it up better than that, or you shouldn't post.

Wow rage much? I own an e-Sports team. Hacking is hacking yes. But the guy is good end of story.

I don't support hacking, or hackers. But theres a whole lot of comments about it where people clearly need to get over themselves.. Yours included.

By the way, I can lick my elbows and I can kick myself in the back of my head.. I guess I must be retarded.

Just trying to get the facts straight, did Spades get caught cheating twice? Can someone confirm this?

I'll refer you to hot_bid's post. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=186152&currentpage=8#153

Thanks for the reply. hot_bid's post confirms one incident, but there are several posts suggesting that he has made multiple offenses, such as this one:

It's well know that he did hack and was caught more then once hacking. He was caught hacking in the Yankee league and also caught hacking in ICCup about 2 years back on smurf accounts using the oblivion hack. He was kicked out of sMi. after being caught hacking.

I would like to know just what exactly happened and if he actually dared to maphack again after being caught once.

As far as I know he was caught once "officially", that is, in relation to an organized event. Beyond that there's always wild speculations on either end of the spectrum. Spades tried to make a comeback in Brood War, playing at offline events and such, but was not well-received. Since he's overhauled his manners and dedicated a ton of time to improving and streaming SC2, and is now (and rightfully so) heading to Korea to try out for Code A, some people have forgiven his past transgressions and some people haven't. It isn't much more complicated than that, there are legitimate reasons for each individual's opinions I'm sure.

He was a notorious hacker on bw, I know a lot about it. Reason we say 'caught once' is simply because he wasn't relevant. Always skipped offline tournament because he wouldn't have a chance. Watched him play MgZ)Li (who was already making huge bucks playing poker) for money and he hacked there as well, still losing ~50% of matches (they went RvR).

But again, TT1 and Huk hacked before too. TT1 was actually good, that's the difference. 2 other guys weren't.

lol you get what you pay for.

Not praising, stating the facts. Dino and Oldy would fit this same criteria with you.

Now to pre-clarify any accusations of hacking because the majority of Keeper- was caught hacking while making it WGT-CL DIV 1 and we (as a team) were disqualified when the oblivion sting happened. I did not hack and had all my replays reviewed. I'm sure Xeris or some other admin at the time can verify this in some way.

Okay Hot_Bid, I can't really provide replays. If one wanted to look he would look for retribution-x17, not keeper-huk.

Regardless, I think it's probably best to keep this discussion on Spades, Code A, and Spades' history. Making this thread into a discussion about all people who were previously accused of hacking is pretty useless, please don't do it.
