As far as I can tell, it's not out yet, it's the maintenance. For some reason the patcher connects for a minute before just starting and telling you bnet is down.

Has a big impact pvz. Toss players could pylon block off the zergs ramp and deny an expo.

Other matchups it won't do much at all.

Did SEA servers have 8 hours of maintenance downtime before they could install patch and login to SC2?

Today's a snow day, classes are canceled - was looking forward to playing 1.2 this morning. Ugh, now I have nothing to do for the next 4-5 hours.

Just wondering, for those of you who on SEA, how long did it take to download the patch? Approximate file size?

Basically, its to stop 1 very specific early game play by protoss that Blizzard thinks is unfair (at least for its current cost).

Pylon/gate isn't viable because you need the pylon to finish before you could place the gate - and 3 pylons is nearly a nexus....I don't think we will see many wall offs in the future. Though the pylon behind the mineral-lines definitely remains do-able.

I don't really think it's "that" unfair since zerg simply has to pull a drone to the ramp on time, but it's just an utterly retarded strategy, nobody wants to see that. At least I'm a toss player who's never done it (well, 2-3 times months ago) and I immediately close/delete reps where a toss does it. Not a playstyle I wanna see or play.

After 34 pages, I just realized most of the questions here have been asked so many times and 2-3 people posting the answer at the same time.

AFAIK, the custom maps made by blizzard are not realised in this patch. Probably the upcoming big one with the ladder reset i guess but its anyone's guess.

Edit:

It took around 5-15 mins to downdoad n update the patch. I was downloading at 40kb/s(slow internet tonight), so it would faster for you guys.

Just installed it, played for a bit. SEA is laggy as fuck still. Patch is around 70-100MBs (wasn't paying too much attention). Took about 10 minutes to grab, which is standard with Blizzard's gay P2P patch downloader.
