It appears that Archons are not doing any splash damage when they target buildings. Any thoughts on this? It has to do with how the splash radius is calculated. Ultras are special in their theirs is calculated using the target unit's radius and then added 2. The bigger the unit, the bigger the splash.
Like I said, people should calm down. This will definitely get patched VERY soon.

so what? but the other way around its fine? a repaired pf taking down 60 supply by its own?

I Love how people are saying this is crap i <3 this change :D
the thing that was crap is that no zerg unit could out dps how fast the scvs repaired ><
Fear the swarm with lots of <3

wow that's really awesome... i hope this isn't just some kinda mistake

Shouldn't be patched. Ultralisk are our strongest unit, and for it to be pissed on by a PF and its army of retarded scvs is fucking lame (AI and all that). Finally a way to kill PFs with ground army. Fantastic idea.

Seems odd to me that Blizz would take this long to patch this and then let something that obvious slip through the cracks. Wonder if this really is working as intended?
|
Clearly they just didn't think this would be an issue when they removed the headbutt. Patch incoming.
|
Wow what the aoe range on that? Incredible.
|
That seems way overpowered.. Basicly, one ultra would be able to hit all targets standing near a bulding it is hitting.. I approve of the splash vs. buildings, but this is just over the top, lol
|
also LOL at all the hostile zerg players here. It's hilarious when no one is even crying and you guys project your own personalities onto the posts saying stuff like "probably a bug."

Im sure its a bug, because it seem like everything around 1range of the PF got the dmg.
I wouldnt count on that, but I have to admit DAMN impressive!

See what I did there?
I totally agree. The terran metagame regarding the repair of PFs has not evolved enough. So it is too early to patch this. And if they patched that then it should be in very small steps.
Another point is, terran can just nuke the mineral line of zerg to prevent ultras from appearing. As easy as using a nydus as zerg.

This looks so stupid. Then again, repaired planetary fortresses were impossible to kill before, so I guess it's for the better. But damn, what an ugly fix for a problem. As far as I remember, the planetary fortress was fine during the beta, when workers had a reasonable attack priority and units actually killed the workers and then the building. What was wrong with that?

In a scenario with this knowledge, he would still take out an ultra and lose the PF, sounds fair to me.

lol, GL check and cool!!!

Edit: at work and can't test it myself, would be nice to use the splash on ultras to break walls by doing damage to multiple adjacent buildings at once. Did you see the video? Watch the supply depot that is one full square away from the PF.
really not sure how i missed that... thanks!

its definitely buggy. splash radius coming off the entire PF. but its better than ultras dancing around in circles trying to hit the darn thing.
i approve
