It saddens me though because Nerchio/Stephano/Mana/Dimaga/Socke are probably better than any American with the exception of Huk. They talk a lot about Socke/Mana, for the others, that's kinda their fault for not participating to a lot of big tournaments. Stephano is the best example, everyone is saying he is so great but you rarely have the chance to see him play. Can't really blame sotg for that. didn't he destroyed everybody in the IGN qualifier though?
I'm not saying he isn't good, i'm saying he is not playing in those rly big/super hyped tournaments that everyone talk about. I don't think i'm the only one who didn't even watch IGN qualifier : < (mainly because i'm busy and there is so many things to watch)

Nerchio/Stephano have both competed in a lot of offline tourneys.
IEM is the first one that comes to mind for both but I'm sure there is others. Nerchio didn't lose a game in a pretty tough group and I think Stephano crushed Puma in a game 1 but then lost last two games

I don't think they really took the EU comments seriously though, which is a little sad. It's not about watching every random weekly cup, but just looking over Mikilatov's awesome tournament round-ups would really give them a good idea of which players to find some replays of, and which players to watch once in a while. Tyler was very conciliatory about LucifroN, he was absolutely right, Luci got rolled, but he was gracious enough to admit that it probably wasn't his best play. And it's completely true, LucifroN's current form is amazing. Stephano, Nerchio, and the others too. Just knowing who's been tearing through the weekly cups would be an asset for the show, I think.
they have absouletly no idea who lucifron is. the plays for 4 weeks a year and in the meantime he doesnt even touch sc2 and concentrates on studying. so this time, he came and raped everyone again. 2 weeks before dreamhack, he continued his study and didnt focus on the game too much again - ofc he practices because of his invite, but its just not the same.
He is simply one of the greatest talents there is on this planet, if they knew anythin gabout wc3 or him as a person they would know that. They judge from 2 maps they saw form this guy vs motherfuckin DRG - how fair is that?

I personally lol'd hard at every single EU reference, specially when artosis started cracking up.

Obviously they did some, otherwise we wouldn't even know their name, but you can't really argue with me that they play in as many tournaments as players like Idra or HuK, so this is kinda normal that they talk less about them in a show like sotg.

Stephano placed 3rd at Assembly too, beating Sen and also Brat_OK in the greatest series known to man.(not the 3rd place match)

Since he plays for 4 weeks a year, why should anyone give him any attention? Maybe you don't know this, but everyone is regarded as fluky until they prove themselves. You know why? It's because these guys have seen everyone and everything so they are naturally skeptically of anyone until they prove themselves.
Regarding the hosts judging from two maps vs DRG. That's because they're discussing DH, of which he played two games total. It's not like they're specifically discussing Luci as a player so how about you stop being so butthurt.

this show is going downhill in my view and gets worst every week so i hope you guys accept this as constructive criticism.
- Jp constantly distracts serious topics for mentioning crap like overlays and who's connected /not connected. This is quite serious, because im getting the impression hes not even listening to whats being said. If you have a host that isnt listening to his guests and is more concerned about other things it shows a true lack of passion and degrades any conversation to a joke.
-artosis is completely oblivious to anything not code S related, for god sake naniwa was fighting for his code A survival during the cast and none of them seemed to know that, then artosis says GOM gives sage a free spot ... what the hell??, then he says that basically every sc2 player is crap referring to our best is MVP like if thats a joke.
-the end of each state of the game is now called State of Broodwar, a completely irrelevant topic for the majority of viewers. We all know a talk about broodwar usually ends up in a Starcraft 2 bashfest because their is alot of comparing going on. The chat for state of the game during the broodwar talk also showed that they could not give a rats ass to hear all this and were talking about other things.
-These round robin questions were not so prevalent in earlier state of the games that made this show great, Right now its like all you hear. The same points get restated.
What can be done to make the show better?
-more passion -less sc2 bashing -less round robin questions -more actual game talk about recent strat trends or balance -more controversial guests = put on an idra , having all protoss viewpoints suck.
Currently Inside the game is way better than this show, No fluff, straight to the point .

To be honest they dont talk about many Americans either (themselves obviously, huk and idra). They mostly discuss Koreans, and then top placers at the Big tournaments. The show isn't really about players in specific either its more about general ideas, and usually they use American players over EU players because they interact with them more. Hence why Artosis pretty much only talks about Koreans and anyone he played BW with.

Just finished the podcast:
1) europe jokes = hilarious
2) BW talk = favorite part of the show
3) Fav show since the episode where Nony said "suprise RAAAPE"

Well... He took down Nerchio, Stepahno and Mana shortly before the Dreamhack Invitational AND (afaik) had to win the spanish qualifier to take part.
SO: 1: He was not invited. 2: He beat other "obvious" invites. 3: The only "stronger" pick (to be sure) would have been another high class korean.
Btw: Just now listening to the cast... The EU "hyping" is boring sadly, not insulting but also not fun.. Just boring?

Sometime, I feel like US players feel down against EU so they need to compensate by trashing EU everyday. Sometime, I also feel like protoss players feel down, so they need to compensate by trashing every other race.
And since SotG is mostly US and protoss... But well, it's only jokes...

As much as I love State of the Game and will continue watching it, I think you are completely right about this. It feels like there is so little actual discussion and its just JP interviewing 4 people at once. I did love the Brood War part though. Overall good show, but please less round robin.

so they should know some random player who plays 4 weeks out of 52 weeks? they have better things to do than that, sorry to say. im glad lucifron is your favorite player but that doesnt mean everyone is going to pay attention to him.
i dont understand this whole "he doesnt play a lot" argument. its not anyone's fault that he doesnt play a lot. why should anybody go download replays of this guy who plays 4 weeks out of a year. if he won something other than online cups in those 4 weeks, maybe people would care. but sorry to say, weekly online cups are about as important as ladder games to most pros.
if he's as great as you say he is, maybe he should quit school and go pro. why would anyone care who he is in wc3 or in real life, if all he's gonna do is online cups and play 4 weeks a year, there's no reason to, just like no one's gonna care about randomjoe123 on the ladder.

Anytime there is a discussion like this I can't help but think of the TSL 2 interview of Idra
Interviewer: "It seems your personality has polarized people largely into three groups: 1) people who hate everything about you, 2) people that support your success but are disappointed when you act bad mannered, and 3) people that love to hear you call people newbies. If you could say something to each group what would it be?"
Idra: "1) Europeans are far too touchy. Life is much more enjoyable if you relax a bit. 2) Its a start, but you need to learn to embrace the anger. 3) Judging by the TL Poll theres actually alot more of you than I expected, so I'll keep it up. I can't believe I'm above White-Ra in that."
