The game has been out for a few weeks and some people apparently consider it solved already. I rather leave balancing to the community because thats where the best balancing comes from at this point. New ways to play, new timings and new builds. Often subtle stuff that ends up having a huge impact. If blizzard is going to go in and tinker at this point there is the risk of it doing more harm than good. So you want to make ZvT easier when playing against mech. Awesome, then you also might want to make bio stronger against Z. Making even a slight change to either will have huge effects on other builds in this matchup, and on all the other matchups. You risk ending up with a World of Warcraft situation where balance is an illusion because blizzard tweaks balance every month. Instead of the game being balanced at any one instant, the OP class just jumps around from month to month with the game never being balanced at all.

However it probably wont take more than a few weeks for the next balance patch to come out and that's probably less time than it would take for Dimaga to reach the same skill level as he has with zerg. (skill level, not rating boosted by being able to abuse terran) GOM being partners with Blizzard it makes sense for Blizzard to try to iron the balance before the tournament starts. I guess I do understand his concerns though, but imo. any race switching because of current imbalance(s) is overreacting before we reach a point Blizzard decides to start concentrating on another RTS title, the game will be changing at such a pace that if you follow the newest balance trend all the time its just going to be ridiculous and detrimental to one's skill level. Indeed, no way blizzard isn't going to fix terran or zerg in the near future (couple of weeks). It's not like 'marauders are OP' or 'roaches 1 supply 2 armor lol' I expect it to be quite a big patch, changing a lot of aspects.

And also TeD who is top2 undead of the world was excluded from WE.Pepsi which implies that he was doing bad. Same could happen to Dimaga. My post meant that blizzard hasn't done any considerable balance changes in recent 4 years but undead didn't come up with some new tactics and continued at failing. So I think it is better to act now than waiting until all zergs will vanish. If I recall Ted beat other top Chinese players in the qualifiers for the WCG... And Happy showed again that UD isn't totally a lost cause. Remember that WC 3 has been out for eight years. BW, ten. SC 2 has been out for three weeks. It's too early to say anything certain about balance.

I honestly think it's kind of an odd game, where everyone thinks Orc and NE are overpowered but still play races other than Orc and NE... But SC 2 is not WC 3.

People like IdrA just add fuel to the fire, when he doesnt have a clue about game design anyways, he's 1 guy, and is probably biased since he plays Zerg. You're turning these progamers into judges or something... If Dimaga plays A then B is bad. If IdrA whines about a Raven rush then everybody would call for nerfs about that, when infact none of this means anything. That doesnt mean that IdrA or Dimaga is wrong though. If you play competitive Starcraft as zerg, and you say that terran is OP, you probably couldnt be more biased since sc2 is your job. Infact, one of the last people i'd listen to about game balance would be IdrA, he's whiny, and he's biased. Blizzard game designers know way more about this, and they get paid to keep balance, so they probably know best. Personally i think there are balance issues with the game, but it's been out for less than a month it'll get fixed for sure. Also, it's a game. How people take these things so serious is beyond me, just calm down and play the game. I hate to see this turning into WoW where it's basically a bunch of kids screaming for nerfs and calling eachother fags and noobs.

I can understand why with huge money to be won and sponsorships to maintain, but still...if people stuck to zerg maybe something would 'click' like it did for protoss in BW in pvz (forge FE). that took a looong time to perfect too I never really liked dimaga as a player though, seemed like an allin player from

Back then the balance wasn't a big issue. And there wasn't a community who were expecting competitive well balanced game. Actually BW made the community. Skills were different. People say that Grrrr would made only C- in ICCUP with his ~100 APM. But now gamers have grown and they know what is metagame. It is possible that we dont see some minor/invisible problems in the balance but we can fix the obvious ones. I don't think Blizzard knows better than us just because they have coded it.

gotta realize man. although recent events (kotick is gay) makes some of the video text a bit unreliable. personally i think terran is PERFECTLY balanced. but the other races just need a bit tweaking.

Pretty much this. Terran will get nerfed and zerg players will still be losing and saying how zerg is still too weak. I think it is really the play style of the zerg players and not the race itself.

and pps: 200 apm zerg losing to 70 apm terrans with no plan, no strategy, but with an unscoutable timing push thats extremely hard to defend. No plan other than to win with 20 scvs still on minerals.
