Sad to see things come to a temporary end, hopefully the second phase of beta doesn't take too long to start up. I'll be eagerly waiting for episode six.

but if roaches get buffed, won't everyone just go back to using nothing but roaches? It seems to me one sollution may be to buff hydras

interesting note by artosis that he finds marine/tank/banshees unstoppable... feels like kind of a nonintuitive combination, and definitely not something i would feel comfortable massing up (the banshees that is)

It seems to me one sollution may be to buff hydras Given how much they have been nerfed from being ridiculous meat shields, it would be an easy way to do it rather than moving them to 1.5 food. I mean, there was the Organic Carapace and other stuff that got removed from the roach. Plus do you really want the zerg to make 2 roaches from each larva? Think about that late game.

"We feel they're just a little too good at hive" "We feel they just have a little too much armor" "Alright look they're completely bullshit" Also someone should mention to Day9 that mappers could just make the choke points 50% smaller rather than readjusting every unit ![]()

It seems to me one sollution may be to buff hydras They both have different utilities. Its not like roach, hydra was not the strategy you mainly used pre patch 12 nerf but with roaches at 2 supply instead of 1, it suddenly became this 200/200 weak unit that basically had too many counters to even remotely be considered effective en masse. example, stimmed marauders and marines guarding a tank shelling cluster. Roaches take 20 damage from stimmed marauders and while they have hp to spare, the hydralisk takes 10 damage because it is not armored and suddenly does not die as easy as the roaches and becomes the tank of our comp. thats why you wanted to mix them together, so you can counter both their +light damage units. Hellion, marine with roach and rest against hydralisk. With roaches at 2 supply, you simply wont have the endgame mass to fight equally against Terran mech, protoss collosii / immortal /templar and the roach with all its upgrades is viewed as more of a situational early game defensive unit. This should not be, it has HIVE tech upgrades, therefore it should be a contender in 200 / 200 battles competing with Ultralisk and banelings for a spot inside the late late game stage. Right now you can dismiss such notions almost instantly, as even banelings tank better for less supply.
