Pretty much agree with this. The identity of the race is gone. All race are very similar to each other now in terms of unit number. But as Justin B said, they didn't design the game from "let first look at the role of the races" point of view, they designed it from a "lets design some cool units and balance stuff out" approach. Which Personally i don't like but it is the way it is.

did they added "framratecap=60" in variables ? (this fix graphic card going for full power when nothing happens ;P) or is was it me ? tho im pretty sure i removed it before patching game -_-

I could actually download the patch now, but the previous patch changes was shown when downloading it. Now it says Bnet is down for maintenance.

As zerg, I'm not a big fan of the roach rush to begin with. My concern isn't so much for the early game as it is for the mid and how much smaller a hydra-roach army will be now. After all the nerfing and its obvious weaknesses, this 2 supply just seems lazy. Buff it back to 2 armor or something if it's gonna be like that.
But hey, I guess we'll find out how this works in game...although experimenting with the other races seems more tempting now.

I'll third this as well. Even if roaches were too powerful per population, nerfing the population cost really loses a lot of the zerg flavor.

Interesting roach nerf. I could see it late game, esp if they plan to make ultras viable, but it might be rough early game. Objectively, what are we looking at here? Something like 100mineral+the larva + OL build time, twice as often, in worst case? What does that open(or close) strategically?

Mini thors are funny though. Big ones looked better, but thats a worthwhile tradeoff hehe.

LOL at forge nerf. Yepyep. That forge first cannon rush was way to strong omg. Thank god for that!
/end sarcasm.

Although tbh that's not gonna change much...except maybe make forge-first FEs even less viable. But the mothership change was pointless seeing how no one every really used the vortex+forcefield+splash exploit, but the change very understandable.

Thors are buffed...not sure if that's a good thing, I think they were pretty strong already. Roach nerf is gonna hurt Zerg but can't say i'm complaining as a Protoss player, though. Although I'd much rather have them just nerf roach hp to like 100 or 120 and keep it at 1 supply.

That's hard to say, since they have access to mountains of balance data that we don't.

Both terran and zerg have been moved to the protoss spectrum of power/cost of units.

It seems that many people think hydras were 2 control in SC1...

So many people that haven't played in ages...

But yeah basically Zerg is slowly but surely losing any kind of "swarm" feel to it.

wow .. how a lot off people feel the need to exaggerate...

OMG CANT USE ROACHES ANYMORE..

OMG CAN FAST EXPAND WITH TOSS EVER AGAIN..

the game is pretty balanced and the mass roaches in late game was very hard to deal with,
only ignorant zerg player will argue otherwise.
Just play some games try new things and see how it will work out.

From the Blizzard "Situation Report":

Roach - Supply count increased from 1 to 2.

Roaches are just too mighty to be a 1 supply unit. In 200 supply battles Roaches can be very difficult to deal with even with the correct counters in play by protoss or terran players.

As always, we appreciate the ongoing constructive feedback and will continue to closely monitor the effects of these changes within the game.
