Not to mention an ultra buff is not going to do anything to stop the ever widening imbalance that exists with zerg units. Simply put with this nerf zerg do not have enough units to do anything. | ||

Roaches are now moving away from being a useful unit and toward being a unit you make because your opponent has splash dmg and/or bonus dmg vs light and roaches are the only thing you can make to deal with that. While it may increase diversity, diversity is only fun when you WANT to make the different units because of what they do. It's not fun when you have to make a unit because it's the only armored unit you have. Further patches might improve the situation, but it's not going to be an enjoyable wait at all. | ||

Im no where near high caliber but Ive found even with double the bases up I cant beat a terran mech that has sufficient viking backup. Every ZvT I play is completely geared around ending it by midgame because of that. Now with this roach nerf Im not sure I can end it with midgame pushes so unless something changes I may have to just go with bling early pool cheese when my random gives me ZvT. Or try for silly doomdrops when terran unsieges and moves out. Frankly Im just stumped by this patch change, with no other changes to zerg race I don't see how what its meant to do to change zerg play other than crack it with a massive nerfbat. | ||

Honestly not sure what I am going to have to do to compensate, roaches functioned as meat tanks not just in their high HP but also in their numbers. Lings could never quite hope to accomplish that role short of dark swarm making a return. I pretty much agree with Morrow, in the later game fights I am just going to be working with absolutely less HP's worth of units going in with little way to make a difference on the matter. | ||

Roaches are great units but to me it seems sort of weird that the most used zerg unit is/was a 1 supply unit~. I'm glad i can expect more unique builds rather than a bunch of roach rushes. Games still in beta so the changes/nerfs/buffs aren't going to be permanent~ Explore the game some more ![]() | ||

Not only is it not bad to expect that each patch won't be the end of balance -- it's probably better to do it this way. | ||

I thought it worked out ok balance wise, but it sure as hell never seemed "fair" that a unit that powerful would be 1 food. When I first was told they were I was all "haha, yeah right, you misread that". | ||
