I loled. These changes aren't implemented yet? I just played a game with a experimental mech build versus protoss, I won, lol, but I didn't really notice a difference.
xD.. Think im just special >.<

Not too bad? The core 2 Z units were nerfed into oblivion and marauders don't have their auto-snare anymore. Immortal and Sentries remain unchanged and the VR changes can be considered a buff but won't make any difference anyway.
And you wonder what changes this patch will bring? P dominance of course.

They just buffed the Void ray, or turned it into more of a glass cannon than before. Really don't see the issue.. Void ray nerfed(cost) and buffed (power).

What am I supposed to kill Marauders with? Compare the Hydra to the Stalker for example: The Stalker and the Hydra are both very veratile Units that can be used to fight Air-units and ground-units, they have nice upgrades and are kinda fast to move around with on the Map. They aren't supposed to be heavy-hitting Tank-Units IMHO, thats why they should loose in a straight-up battle against Units like Marauders, Tanks, Thors etc. Besides, Roaches were in front of the Hydras taking most of the DMG anyways, so I guess Blizzard made the change to buff Collossi (who can actually reach the Hydras) standing behing the Roaches and Storm, which were both underpowered after the last few patches against Roach/Hydra and Zerg in general. The difference is that Hydra's are our only combat unit that can hit air from the ground (other then Queen's), is very expensive, and costs 2 supply. And is Tier 2, requiring spawning pool/lair/hydra den. I'd argue that they should NOT lose straight-up to Marauders in equal numbers, because they are really our only viable mid-game counter to mass Marauder (don't say Speedlings, because they get so stupidly toasted by a few moderately micro'd Hellions it's silly). I don't want them to tank shots. I just want them to be useful in a role other then "jesus christ I'm getting Banshee/Void Ray cheesed again, better tech to Hydra's to defend it".
I just don't know what to do for army composition against some common pushes anymore. Roaches are weaker against Immortal's now (and Hydra's are too expensive/slow to really counter the early Immortal timing push). Lings, to deal with the Immortals, get completely marginalized by a few Zealots and some Forcefield micro. Hydras and Lings will now get completely melted by a few Colossi. I guess I still have Mutas?
Mutas, unfortunately, are not an answer against Terran anymore with the Thor buff's. Nor are Speedlings beyond the beginning of the game, besides as a harassment unit due to Hellions and the AI's penchant for balling up, making full surrounds on a bio-ball less effective. Roaches have always been melted against Marauders, and now Hydras are even worse against them. 80 health isn't worth the 100 minerals, 50 gas, and 2 supply except to beat back Banshee's. Especially when Thor's crush them even harder now.
I'm really at a loss as to what I can do in order to have any kind of initiative with a decent army composition. It seems like both races (particularly Terran) can counter massive amounts of my units with very few due to splash damage, and my counters to that either barely win or lose anyway at equal supply.

ling speed and muta needs to be nerfed -.-... seriously... mutas need to either act like sc1 (so they get raped by archons) or get nerfed somehow... they just rape toss...

Too much theorycrafting going on here, wait until the patch is actually out before you cry imbalance. Acting like your race can't compete now is entirely the wrong attitude, you should believe that if you're the better player you will win and you should continue to believe that unless after many games it is clear that there is a significant imbalance.

Except the fact that 50 mineral increase is no real nerf since minerals are so easy to come by in this game.

It certainly isn't a buff :/

I agree... what's the point of the void ray having three spinny things on it if it only has 2 power levels?

The reason why Idra is not playing Protoss right now and probably won't do in the near future is just becuase of his playstyle. Both Idra and Artosis like solid macro-builds with good scouting-opportunity and the ability to be versatile and defend against all sorts of cheese and that's IMHO the way a good SC2-player should play the game. With toss, you can pretty much forget about that, because they'll loose in every Macro-War, so you'll have to be very creative and sometimes even use those all-in's that Artosis hates so much. B to the D-Dubbya - give Kwanro a break man! ^^'
With T and Z, you can play a solid Macro-game much better and that's still true in the latest patch. So just resort to a more macro-oriented and safe build and forget a bit about rushing and spamming, cuz that's were T and Z are far ahead of the Toss atm.

I mean can we really have a patch without the protoss getting hit by the nerf bat? It's soo funny to see ppl saying: "Im gonna change to Protoss now" as soon as the others races like Zerg get some nerfs. I'm lolrofling all over the place when reading stuff like that. ^^' Agree. Thats cause people love easy wins. I DONT. And Im loyal to one rase, from SC1, BW and now SC2. I actually like playing the "underdog-race". ^^' I was playing Terran back when they got raped by toss with extremely fast 4 warpgate-pushes and stuff but changed to toss once everyone started massing Marauders, just cuz it wasn't fun to play at all. I'm gonna definitely stay with Protoss though, because it's IMHO just very fun to play and it requires a good amount of Macro (just look at Chronoboost - you have to use it twice as often as the other Macro-abilities) and encourages creativity with lots of possibilities like warp-in's, chronoboost that can make units/probes/Upgrades build/research faster etc. Though I've never felt like Toss were overpowered. In fact, after 250 Games with Terran with easily over 60% wins I totally got raped playing Toss and it took me about 500 games to get back to over 55% wins and Platinum. Ppl tend to see timing-attacks that work in some instances and think that it's easy to win with toss, though they don't see that those attacks are often All-in's and that the Toss is behind economically after the first 5 mins in every MU so you have to make that attack count. I also don't like to play all-in's or cheese and rly, I dare you guys - Play a straight-up Macro-wars with toss against T or Z, with a solid build that doesn't die to all sorts of cheese and you'll see how hard it's to play Toss solid without having to depend on all-in timing-attacks.
Yeah I did the same^^. Was terran first, switched to random after the reset and decided toss was the harder/more involved race to win with (for me at least). And yet blizzard refuses to let me play the underdog by patching the other races to balanced levels!>< I suppose I don't mind the changes but I'm starting to feel like they're balancing this game like they do WoW: if enough people whine about it we'll change it. I certainly had a hard time with early game marauder slow too but so what? Intense moments of "oh crap I gotta micro this" are a good thing in my eyes. This takes alot of the tension out of the early TvP game =(

At first sight, yes. But what I also see is that Void Rays now have the exact same role as the Scout in SC:BW. Good on paper, but way too expensive, so that teching to carriers and skipping Void Ray/Scout is always the better option, both economically and in terms of strength. Even though I want SC2 to be as much as SC:BW, the one thing I hoped that changed was the 2.5 tier air tech for protoss, because in SC:BW it's only use is to humiliate an already beaten opponent or to make it part of surprise strategies like the Stove.

Patch is now live on US bnet.

i never used the void ray anyways dies to fucking fast, shud add like +ten base armor to it. Lol thank god i can beat early game maruaders with stalkers (hopes) nice armor decrease on roaches, wonder if zealots can be a defence along with stalkers now. then again i havent massed stalkers vs roach. Which is stronger?

I don't get why they don't just bring back the SCBW hydra. They were scary enough while still being easy to counter.
