It doesn't replace anything, SC2 just loads things in folders before things in MPQs | ||

Thanks Floor. I play Terran so I'm guessing I have it the "best" as far as music and sounds go in SC2... I've messed with Zerg and Protoss and I can tell you... I can TOTALLY see a Zerg player going through all this work!!! lol <3OP | ||

I hope Blizzard will implement this as an option for the release. Just going to options and check "use BW sounds" would be awesome. Edit: Even though BW sounds = manly is right. The thread name could be more accurate so more people find this. | ||

For Zerg, it changes the whole race. This is like amazing. It' a pitty SC2 sounds aren't better, just too homoginized. For expample, the sound of the Roach isn't SO bad... as long as its with mostly SC1 sounds. But the Zerg announcer... changes the whole race. Makes me want to play Zerg (my orig race). | ||

The Protoss executor or wtf he is that tells you to build pylons isn't as loud/serious as he used to be. In SC1 everything had a unique voice, a unique tone that made each unit easily distinguishable. But it's also a personal preference. Having played this game on and off for 12 years, I can easily tell which sound belongs to which unit without looking at the screen. I know how they sound when they spawn, I know how they sound when they engage, I know how they sound when they die. The sounds help to feel familiar with the game. | ||
