Yeah...that cast is actually the reason it took me way longer to start watching Day9 than most other people.
I was around the community when the game happened, but I didn't actually watch it (mainly because I was more into the Korean scene than the foreign/TL community scene at that time). In the aftermath, though, the forums exploded with people talking and laughing about it and quoting all of Day9's most obscene and strangest lines. Basically, the whole thing gave me the very strong impression that Day9 was just some cruddy shock commentator whose main draw was making obscene jokes and saying the f-word a lot. Which is most definitely not my thing.
As a result of this, I for the most part avoided the Day9 dailies when they came out, as well as his various other casting endeavors...I just really wasn't interested in a commentator of that type. It wasn't until the TSL2 that I was forced to actually really listen to Day9's commentary...and lo and behold, here was a mild, gregarious guy with an incredible grasp of the game, and not the self-centered, potty-mouthed kid I had imagined. I was quite shocked, to be honest.
Then, of course, I began seeking out and watching some of the Day9 Dailies...and the rest is history.
Since then, I've often wondered whether or not I'd somehow misinterpreted things concerning the Chill-Combat-ex cast, and it really was just the current mild-mannered Day9 then too. But, heh, apparently not. That video is hilarious.
In any case, I definitely like the current Day9 a lot better than the old one. Keep up the good work, Sean!
well to be fair, Day9 has done some pretty lame things in the scene in the distant past (4-5 years ago).. so hopefully he has matured a lot since then.
I like his daily's, but I still get annoyed by the thought of him at times. I like his brother as a commentator much more, but I can see why many new players like Day because he explains simple things that new players dont think about, and why they are important.
What lame things? I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Day ever lol
What you mean? If you are clueless Day[9] doesnt have any opinions he only goes against other ppls beliefs and tries to sound clever. Only he knows how to express himself so other nerds love him. He is really the clown of the internet. People don't say anything because he already fails pretty hard and fanboys will swarm.

haha well that's exactly the reason he only has 2 posts, he made that account just to be a douche.
and Skyze who said he 'did lame things years ago' is just a nobody hater who is saying that to try and sound like he is "in the know," when really he has never been good at anything but getting carried.

For people like me who download the videos... Your media player should have an option to offset the audio timing. Just go to a moment where the awesome Day[9] is on screen talking, and fiddle with the number of milliseconds (positive or negative) until the video matches the audio. I know that Media Player Classic, my media player of choice, has this feature. You just click "Play" in the top menu, then "Audio", then "Options" and click the box for "Audio Time Shift" and experiment with the number.
Both 138 and 139 can be "set right" by using an audio time shift around 270ms.
Just make sure that when you're done, you go back into Play>Audio>Options and unclick the Audio Time Shift box before you close... It's easy to forget that you have the option set, and it carries over the next time you use the program.
I do sometimes feel like I don't really need to watch all the dailies (an hour a day!) when a lot of it is repetition. Day[9] is very intelligent and insightful, but to me the dailies seem more like he's using the daily to articulate his feelings about certain strategies and such. I think a lot of the special episodes and the discussions with other people are very interesting, which tells me that if he tries he can do very well, but the dailies are slightly lazy at times, I think, from an entertainment point of view. Not that I have any right to complain about it, but so be it.
I mean, it's unfair really, people that have daily shows tend to have vast staffs of writers to help prepare the show, and he's all by himself, and it's still very interesting, but maybe not when you've already seen 100 episodes. :/
Hey, I'm a big fan of the Day[9] Daily. The commentary is so insightful and the analysis is superb. But I saw in the initial post that you might be looking for ideas. (especially during the break from beta) (And this may have already been suggested) But, What about a special about Asian play styles? (The Sen series, and Asia vs Europe show-matches were great) Specifically, I'd love to see one about Ssks/Tester.
I love your cast. I really like the itunes feed feature, but it seems you only had it enabled for a couple of the casts. It would be REALLY awesome if you could get it working for future casts as well so I can watch your shows on the go.

"It's a little bit of an advanced tactic, and by advanced I mean really fuckin' bad". God I was dying through this whole video. I don't even care if 67% of my posts are blatant Day9 love, this video fantastic. Keep up the good work.
