Anyway, I wanted to show some non starcraft friends what the game was about so I thought Day's commentaries are the best Ill hook them up with one of his games.
On searching Youtube I came across this little gem
Pure Comedy, BM and excitement. I don't know if you were high or drunk but you have certainly come a long way in insightfulness and maturity with your current dailies (on which I settled with)
Looking forward to your next daily as always to keep the SC2 addiction fulfilled <3

This was the first Day[9] video I had ever seen, and I was HOOKED from then on out. He's too damn funny.

Yeah...that cast is actually the reason it took me way longer to start watching Day9 than most other people.
I was around the community when the game happened, but I didn't actually watch it (mainly because I was more into the Korean scene than the foreign/TL community scene at that time). In the aftermath, though, the forums exploded with people talking and laughing about it and quoting all of Day9's most obscene and strangest lines. Basically, the whole thing gave me the very strong impression that Day9 was just some cruddy shock commentator whose main draw was making obscene jokes and saying the f-word a lot. Which is most definitely not my thing.
As a result of this, I for the most part avoided the Day9 dailies when they came out, as well as his various other casting endeavors...I just really wasn't interested in a commentator of that type. It wasn't until the TSL2 that I was forced to actually really listen to Day9's commentary...and lo and behold, here was a mild, gregarious guy with an incredible grasp of the game, and not the self-centered, potty-mouthed kid I had imagined. I was quite shocked, to be honest.
Then, of course, I began seeking out and watching some of the Day9 Dailies...and the rest is history.
Since then, I've often wondered whether or not I'd somehow misinterpreted things concerning the Chill-Combat-ex cast, and it really was just the current mild-mannered Day9 then too. But, heh, apparently not. That video is hilarious.
In any case, I definitely like the current Day9 a lot better than the old one. Keep up the good work, Sean!
well to be fair, Day9 has done some pretty lame things in the scene in the distant past (4-5 years ago).. so hopefully he has matured a lot since then.
I like his daily's, but I still get annoyed by the thought of him at times. I like his brother as a commentator much more, but I can see why many new players like Day because he explains simple things that new players dont think about, and why they are important.
What lame things? I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Day ever lol
What you mean? If you are clueless Day[9] doesnt have any opinions he only goes against other ppls beliefs and tries to sound clever. Only he knows how to express himself so other nerds love him. He is really the clown of the internet. People don't say anything because he already fails pretty hard and fanboys will swarm.
Aye gotta love a new person with 2 posts and is trolling already. Jeeze at least wait till you get to 100!
haha well that's exactly the reason he only has 2 posts, he made that account just to be a douche.
and Skyze who said he 'did lame things years ago' is just a nobody hater who is saying that to try and sound like he is "in the know," when really he has never been good at anything but getting carried.
Getting carried? this is SC.. how exactly do you get carried in 1v1? Btw, who the fuck are you? Have you even gotten past silver league yet? I didnt think so.
Day has matured A LOT since the past, thats all I am saying.

I wish Day[9] casted like this still, for us big kids
With VLC you can easily adjust the sound to the video with the hotkeys "h, j" or "k, l" it'll adjust the sound or subs (2 of those are for subs) by 0.25 seconds~

rofl I dont even know how to respond to that. I've beaten afew top US players so far in SC2, and I only played less than 1000 games. But anyways, enough about stupid troll posters who hide behind a smurf because they know they have no talent. Like I said, have you gotten out of silver league yet? Highly doubt it.
Im also waiting on that #129 video from Day, curious to see this PvZ, even though its old now.

Do you know skyze? Have you played against him in SC2? No? Then why are you saying hes not good? Just because somebody isnt on the asia server doesnt mean they are not good (for beta standards).
you're right you're right, i apologize, i must have him confused with someone else. given that I am a silver player it must have been a different Skyze I kept running into and to the other ender, sometimes people need to be called out, and if i had not been wrong about who he is, then it would have been a much needed message to him
