If Day[9] called it 'beastly', what you say must be true!

Was there a Daily today? On ustream it says the last broadcast was 3 days ago and the TL calendar says event is finished. Should i be expecting a VOD or is this another day without my D9D fix ?

Nonono, the build alone isnt enough. The problem occurs when you face the beastly ZvP build while doing your beastly PvZ build. It results in unbeatable vs unbeatable and thus the game just cannot imagine who could possibly win and the univserse ceases to exist.
On a serious note, after the initial (fan)boylove i think about what day says more thoroughly and i noted that he tends to hype the most common things in the world inevery replay. Take the last daily as an example, he mentioned how well artosis is in recovering from early pushes and how he sticks to his gameplan even after that and how it is "his" strategy to macro 3 bases before he does any agression himself and how this build is so superstrong. I mean whats so special about it? Pretty everyone does that, maybe not as well as artosis but still. In other casts he would point out how strong this early one base aggression build by player xy is, though he really does nothing special at all. Am i too hypercritical? :/

I think Day just emphasises the little things because its things that casual players dont even think of, which make all the difference. Stuff that players who are used to the competitive scene for 5+ years would not even think twice about the significance of something so little, because its already assimilated into their repertoir/style so much they dont need to think about it, but someone new to SC might not realize how important it is, even if its super small.
In that example (cant say i watched that daily, or maybe I just forgot), a newb might not stick to their gameplan when shit turns sour at the first, but a stronger player has his head level at all times and doesnt let small things like harassment/early pushes shake them. like I said, havent watched the daily but its something that scares newbs; early pushes. I can speak for myself when coming back to BW in 2008 and starting to learn toss, every PvT where they would do their early game push with vultures would scare the shit out of me and rattle me/make me suicide my army to kill it early, yet as I grew more comfortable with toss as a race, I realized it was normal and just to survive it and keep my gameplan in check for the lategame.

aww in that case, anyone care to summarize the gist of the daily? :3

Is that Day9 doing the voice over for the Dolby ad on his blip VODs?
|
Has anyone else given up on trying to watch the steams and just watching on blip instead, if your numbers are going down don't worry day9, we are still watching, its just ustream is hopeless.
|
I wouldnt know about the ustream quality. I live in europe so the daily is at 05AM to me, and when you have work in the morning it isnt really an option.
But when there have been some tournaments that are casted from day9:s ustream, it is usually quite laggy. Which is actually weird because hdscrarcraft stream viewers pieked over 10k in day9 vs tasteless showmatch and it didnt lag to me. In the same weekend there was Devastation casting from djwheat and that had like 6k all the time and didnt lag at all.
So is ustream screwing with day9 or whats up? I hope it can be solved but I still love day9 so I hope that you will keep doing the dailies, they are the best!
