They didn't mention anything about reverting the upgrade completely, just that it doesn't heal faster anymore. Remember, the new Caduceus Reactor did two things: it increased the heal rate, and it increased the energy efficiency. So, if it no longer heals faster, then it now just improves your energy efficiency by 67% (5 health/point energy instead of 3 health/point). Which is still quite a bit better than just +25 energy; rather than give you 75 starting energy to heal up to 225 health out of the gate, it makes your starting 50 energy heal 250 health, and each additional point of energy heals for two extra health. | ||

The fact that they took out vortex makes me very angry though, since they have now relieved protoss of one of the main late game abilities that has been used to kill blord-festor. You do realize Vortex was already basically neutered, as of Patch 8? | ||

Literally the only unquestionably good thing to come out of this expansion for Terran (apart from Thors losing energy bars!) gets just straight up cut. Just cut. So Terran, who had the weakest late-game in WoL (that's the same WoL in which Protoss got ripped apart by Infestor/BL) are actually the only ones who don't get any late-game buffs. Zerg get Vipers that demolish mech and insane Ultras that ravage bio, Protoss get insane Tempests that obliterate mech and add to a stronger deathball, and Terran... uhhh................ Uh...... HSM takes less energy? But deals less damage? So I guess it's not as awful as it was for the last two patches? So tier 3 is fine. | ||

Whether late-game mech can trade effectively with Protoss in actual game is another issue entirely. But the composition itself in the late-game is viable in big engagement. So, the biggest problem is teching to mech. | ||

Like is that really the biggest issue with going mech? Getting the siege upgrade in time? To me, when mech play is working properly, that's one of the exciting timing things in a game. Can he hold in time for siege upgrade to finish, can he hold, can he hooold? Siege finishes, Tanks siege up and the shelling begins. (This assumes of course that the Tank is a liiittle more powerful then it currently is- being able to one shot some of the lower tier units used to be a neat thing just to make it feel powerful again.) Dunno. I would think mech play would have more problems with dealing with backstabs, protecting flanks or not scaling properly in the endgame rather than simply a matter of not getting the actual tech fast enough. | ||

If Siege Tanks were stronger in lower and weaker in large numbers, then Tank-lines could be much more spread out -> less Deathballs -> more Awesomeness.
