The only real pressing issues I have with this balance patch is that Hellbats need to fill the role of a tank. They need to be able to take damage. Note: Not only does the HB take damage from the front, but it takes damage from the back from the Siege Tanks.

ST no longer requires upgrade? No. I completely disagree. That's not the problem with the Tank. The tanks needs either more damage or a large more effective splash radius.

Post script. Reapers are still trash. Their dmg is sickening.

At the same time, the new method for firing the missile made more sense, as shooting the missiles at a point blank range doesn’t hit with a 100% chance.

On top of that, we’d like to test out a cheaper, more difficult-to-hit-with version of the Seeker Missile so that we can hopefully see some "dodging vs. hitting" gameplay with this ability.


Yet Blizzard REFUSES to fix Fugal! Yes its a projectile. Yes, it cast is so fast it's the same as Instant.

tank rush against or a reaper rush against p will not be effective because of the photon overcharge. I do see zerg dying to this..

What people need to realize is that patches that affect the early game actually affect the game the most. Terrans are now able to play super greedy with fast tanks to defend against any kind of aggression. Mines are back to being practically invisible and tanks are cheap. What can come out of it? Nobody actually knows, not right now.

Blizz just doesn't get it. Mech won't change from this, it'll just make early game TvX timings stronger (which I'm fine with, because P and Z defend T allins with no problems now). Mech needs to be viable vs P and that will never happen if tanks are still hardcountered by every P unit in the game AND immortals/air dominate every mech unit.

Hellbats' dps WITHOUT bonus is almost as high as a stalker's dps WITH bonus, for 0 gas cost...

Reaper needs gas cost dropped to 25-30. Cost should set so that vs marauder whoever micros better wins in gas efficiency.
Siege tank needs a direct buff. None of this indirect bullshit. It needs either less supply cost or some +armored moved to base damage.

I am pretty lost. I am not sure that they made TvP mech viable yet. It will depend of new new hellbat. Terran will feel more safe early game but late game? The issue may stay the same.
Reaper changes are drastic. They look weak, but W&S it could work.
And they could nerf the medic upgrade before removing it. I was used to it, it is so sadistic from blizzard :D Give me my candy back ***

Does that mean the upgrad only change the color of the healing beam ? xD

Reapers now do almost nothing but still cost tons of gas.

Also I like how Blizzard's late game fixes somehow become early game buffs, just like the dark shrine change

You can heal more dmg for the same energy, just not faster.

Not a bad patch overall, except for the ridiculous siege-tank buff (not ridiculous that they got one, but the removal of siege tank research is pretty dumb).

In TvP this buffs the 1-1-1 (can get an extra tank or banshee now, although the build is not overly strong nowadays it's still a decent timing attack) and also helps to hold off a couple of timing attacks (Flash vs Jaedong in the up & downs for example).

What it does NOT do (but needs to) is make the tank better in the mid and late game when used as the backbone of the Terran army. That means the tank needs to be 2 supply and probably a little cheaper (in terms of gas cost). A slight buff to damage or splash size would also be good.

Also they need to add in the Goliath.

I think those changes have more depth people are willing to see. It's just they are not something like "+204dmg" tank dmg, or "+2344range" Thor AA.. You are going to have earlier armory, you can play way more greedy now since tanks and widow mines are going to make you really safe against almost anything, you will have earlier Ghosts now, etc.. All those changes are going to snowball in favor of mech.. It's just not what people expected I think.

Doesn't this just leave Medivacs with more energy for Feedback? I mean, obviously having more energy will be useful in some cases, but this seems like a hugely double-edged sword you're paying for.
