Indeed mate. Quite sad to see they still have no clue what they're doing. I tought pro players' perspective had an impact on beta blance/. Guess i was wrong

If you are toss this is the least of your problems.

Energy cost reduced from 3 health per 1 energy to 5 health per 1 energy.

Siege tanks not needing to research siege mode makes a lot of sense, but idk. It just makes for deadlier pushes, but i doubt it will help all that much to make the game more entertaining. Besides, the patch is really somewhat random.

That tank buff is gonna make for some nasty all-ins in PvT but still not fix mech. All it will do is make 1/1/1s viable again.
I imagine I will be getting hit with lots of weird cheeses on the beta tonight.
It will also help defend against...all the allins Protoss have been abusing with the MSC? In addition to indirectly buffing mines due to the envision change. It's almost like they realized that Protoss allins were too strong. 'Cept the proxy stargate void allin.

On a second thought ... I think Blizzard party to hard into the new year and are still drunk.

The Oracle once again has no direct combat utility, although I'm glad that it has detection instead of the mothership core (although I think it would be better if they just returned it to revelation) Time Warp on MSC/Mothership doesn't sit right with me. As for the Terran changes, I don't even know what to think haha. Edit: David Kim's thoughts: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/7592400518#1 Siege Tank
This change should mainly affect TvP, so that teching to mech is easier.
Why do you keep doing this to me Blizzard? Is David Kim really so clueless? Teching to mech was never the problem. Mech is simply not worth teching to because Protoss can dismantle a mech army so easily. You are completely wrong. Opening mech was absolute nightmare versus competent Toss. Now that you can get shit out faster, you will have more economy, better composition, faster upgrades, ghosts, etc.. There are so many things that just snowball from those changes.. You are vastly overstating the effects of 100/100 resources being freed up. Opening mech is not a nightmare, it's actually fairly powerful in the early mid game before Protoss have the time and money to get all the tools out to deal with it. That's why the 1/1/1 was so effective for so long. The longer the game goes on the less effective it is, a late game Protoss army just shits all over mech and this will not change that. Not saying you're wrong, but people said the same about the queen/OL buffs, and look how much of a difference that made for zergs and their lategame.
Even though i would tend to agree with you, there is one major difference. Right now in WoL Broodlord/Infestor deathball is insanely strong, borderline unbeatable. Terran simply doesn't have that kind of army.

YES, OH MY GOD, YES. I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW, THANK YOU, BLIZZARD. <3

Man this is disappointing tbh.
After the genius of Patch 10 I was excited but this patch shows me they are kind of lost.
|
Uhh... the mech buffs are reasonable. But reaper buff?? Movespeed? Reactor reaper or even proxy :| . Also why is the envision moved? To make widow mines more useful? -___- widowmine drop/rush everytime zzz
|
Honestly we've seen these kinds of crazy patches before - they test for reception and behaviour then they retract and add more softer changes... lets wait it out and see i doubt not even 2/3rds of these make it to the next patch...

Man, no way that siege tank tech removal will make retail.
SC2 balance team at its best

david kim thoughts on

i think he never heard of something called TvT , it will lead that everyone will go into 1/1/1

I had such high hopes after the last big patch, but i don't understand what they are thinking with this patch? Reapers are terrible again, nobody will get fusion core for a bit more efficient medivacs and taking 2 upgrades out of the game just reduces decision making and doesn't help one bit like the hsm upgrade removal did... Oh and raven will now just be imba lategame, like mass fungal/storms destroying whole armies in seconds.
|
If the reaper changes stick... they need to decrease training time (and maybe add tech lab requirement back on) or change the cost. Because why the hell do you want them? Except, maybe that you can have healing units without the medivacs. Hmm.
I dunno, I still think the biggest problem reapers have had since early WoL has been the damn long build time.
I must play terran to test them now...

On January 10 2013 08:16 Killmouse wrote: btw what will the medivac upgrade do now? nothing?
If you remember the original patch notes when it was added, it not only increased the rate of healing, but increased the amount of health restored per energy. 1/3 to 1/5.
EDIT: I am actually surprised that most people are having a negative reaction to these patch notes. The changes seem reasonable to me, there are no obvious upsets like the Infestor buff in the last patch.

If you are in Masters and higher. There is no need to argue with people in here. You do not truly understand how much this patch is going to effect this game if you are below masters. Call me whatever you want but it is true.
|
This must be a joke. I'll go to bed now and hope that when I wake up tomorrow, I realize that this patch just a part of my dream (needless to say it was nightmare).

all i have to say as a terran player is TvZ......Good Luck Zergs...
